It’s not too late Ms Etta, my mother wasted 13 years of her life with a man that treated her like she wasn’t’ even a human being. She left him and spent another 6 years getting back on her feet before she went to school at the age of 40 and became a nurse. She has now built 3 houses for herself in just 3 years and is ready for retirement. YOU SHALL START OVER MS. ETTA, BY THE GRACE OF GOD!

@Mark Watson Mark you sound very dumb. Her reason for going with her mother to Sierra Leone is because she is 20 y- o and has no one else in Jamaica. From the story, it doesnt seem like the father/ex-husband is involved. Etta is a very bright lady if she was able to complete 4 years of medical school plus she is trilingual. She could have used those skills to improve herself right there in Jamaica if she was determined. She came when she was 27 y-o now she is 52. For many years during that period the HEART program was for free and one thing I know Jamaican people will help if they see you are really trying to improve yourself. Furthermore, Just like how Etta got the help she needed to leave Jamaica within the 2 weeks of airing her story ( they already left Jamaica), she would have gotten the help she needed years ago if she had come forward. Looks like you have something against Jamaica.

We are vulnerable to get pregnant and end up alone with children and broken and it gets difficult when we don't have anything to fall back on. God is great I fought to get my education when my child father was pulling me down to collapse. Now he is the one angry of my success because I don't care what he says anymore. @@deejean344 True. I think people don’t understand how God works. If you are in a place, trying to leave & can’t leave after maybe 1- 2 years, it means you’re meant to remain in that place or develop the skills to leave if it is your destiny to leave. 20 years is a long ass time to not come to peace about a situation & elevate yourself out of it. 20 whoooollleee years. I pray she finds peace. x

What I’m finding strange thou is that she have been in Jamaica legally for years being that she was married she was able to get a Jamaican passport to where she was able to get a job in Jamaica legally but she could have worked and saved up her money for a plane ticket way before she got pregnant and after she didn’t even have a bank account for so many years she also said once her family used to send her money to help with her daughter school so why couldn’t they send her money to go back home just like how they spent money to sent her overseas to go to school something kinda funny about the story but probably there’s misunderstanding because even thou she speaks English it’s not her first language she can understand but can’t speak it a 100% I still want to help though lol 😂

@@benitosmith9299 I am responding to your comment about the family sending her back then. They sent money to help their grandchild not the mother who wasted their hard earned money. They sent to educate herself not find boyfriend and get pregnant. She disappointed them. I am an example of that. I got pregnant at the age of 17 before I graduated. My family were ashamed of me especially my mother. Stop speaking to me, but when I had the child she helped me a little, but I was left alone to find my way in life.

This was a Jamaican in Africa this wouldn't have happened because the African hospitality would have kicked in this man is a jerky shame on him there are some Jamaicans who think Africans owed them have come across some arrogant ones in my lifetime and some good ones. Not saying that all Jamaicans are arrogant so, please don't respond to my comments with no nasty comments thanks to sister for highlighting her problems. Back in the days in we had many Jamaicans who were living in Africa were treated wit respect and royalty and here is a bit of history the maroons of Jamaica were actually settled in Sierra Leone in particular the Freetown peninsula.

Its just unfortunate. The only thing we mist understand is that when you are in Jamaica, it's every man for himself. It's a struggle when you are poor. This is how she will get her help as it is publicized for the mass to see. There are many people in Jamaica that would have love to help her, but they can barely help themselves. Let us know her info so those of us overseas can help her. We are all Africans.

I am Interested to know how to help. I am a Sierra Leonean who has been living in the United States for 24 years. It’s crazy how there was a reverse story of a neighbor I knew growing up. She is from Jamaica. She met her husband in the UK and he took her to Sierra Leone. She has been in Sierra Leone for as long as I could remember and my parent had told me even before I was born and she never returned back home. I always ask family members when I call back home to ask about her. I was told she is now an old lady and her husband that took her to Sierra Leone has died. She also have Sierra Leonean kids. She have never been home to Jamaica since he took her. Etta’s story has really touched me and I really will love to help. I will be sharing this story as well. God bless you for helping her.
