the best 2 .45s on the market for the non 1911 crowd. Idc which one you choose you can't argue against the other. if the sig feels right then get it. same for the hk. but if you can get both. I'm not one of those hk vs sig guys. they're both to be respected. they make the world's best handguns and serve and protect daily. both fight for our freedom and are made the the world class standards the price justifys. @Alejandro-vb2fx3 жыл бұрын
@@roosterboy7357 The HK45 is on another level the FNX 45 is for kids who play cod and maybe a range toy, it’s definitely not a quality firearm that can be trusted to save your life or get you home. The FNX feels cheap in the hands and that’s because it is, it’s made from subpar, cheap, flimsy polymer, cheap pot metal trigger and frame parts, slide to frame fit isn’t awesome and feels gritty when racking the slide, the trigger turns to mush after 200 rounds, they break constantly at the first sight of stress and malfunction when dirty, dry or when using anything other than high dollar match ammo oh and they’re not accurate due to the cheap and poorly done barrel and the ergonomics are like holding a 2x4. The HK45 was made as an improvement over the USP and mark23 and there’s documented examples of the HK45 with over 200k rounds on the same barrel without cleaning and same gun with no failures only thing that had to be replaced was 2 small springs after the 100k round mark. The HK will run whatever you put in it, in whatever condition, dirty or clean, you can depend your life that it will go bang accurately every time you squeeze that crisp sa/da trigger. Just racking the slide on an HK feels like greased butter they make the best handguns in the world in my opinion and experience.

Very thorough video! FYI: the HK's trigger hiccup at 20:00 is the half-cocked position. The only time the hammer is dropped beyond that point is when the trigger is pulled onto a dead round / empty chamber. If you were to pull the trigger again to double-strike a primer, you would experience that hiccup. Otherwise, using the decocker, the hammer will sit at the half-cocked position. There will be more take-up before you get to resistance in the trigger, but once you start developing resistance, it's relatively smooth until the break.

P227 has a design flaw. It is shared with other guns out of the p series, but the p227 was most common to have this pin break. I have seen the the same thing happen in a p226. If this pin breaks the weapon will lock up, most of the time with a round in the chamber, but you can't move the slide. I had a p227 and a few others and got rid of all but my p220. Sig knows how to fix it, but refused to do so till it breaks. Not the confidence I want in a duty weapon.

Looks like HK was less accurate for ya, which is something I've seen before, but for me it's the reverse. My target with my P30SK in 9mm looks more like the SIG at 25 yards v my full sized SIG p226 in .40 @ the same distance! Sig's triggers i think help but the HK triggers aren't as bad as the complaints I've heard. I think the LEM shoots more accurately in V1 and even my V2 once you are used to it, the follow up shoots are superb.
@TheBoxingCannabyte6 жыл бұрын
Wound up going to try the HK45 and SIG P227 and to my surprise I walked out with a SIG 1911 Scorpion. Figuring I already owned enough P2-series (For now) and three HKs, the 1911 just spoke to me, and I traded my P2000 as a carry piece to my wife (which she loves thank goodness, and she deserves the best) my pops got my P30 and the P220 and USP are nightstand for now. For backup I'm definitely going for an HK45c unless I find a smaller 1911 that just speaks to me, or decide to go for a Chiappa White Rhino or smaller revolver. (the White Rhino and Hk45c are vastly different, similar price and quality and both offer a lot as a backup/seconadry)
@TheBoxingCannabyte6 жыл бұрын
I own a P220, HK P30sk, HK P2000 (in .40) a USP in .40 (best .40 I've ever shot between G23 and 22, Springfield XDm .40 and Smith and Wesson M&P .40, generally prefer .45 or 9mm), the P220 Carry was by far my favorite all-metal DA/SA I've owned right tied with my beloved Beretta M9, but far more ergonomic and my preferred round, easier to carry too. The USP .40 had the best recoil of the bunch, I'm a believer in the HK recoil reduction system, s othat said. Knowing that the HK45 c feels very much like my P2000, and really liking how HK's DA/SA works in LIVE FIRE (in dry fire it doesn't feel nearly as impressive)....If I had the option of spending $1000-1200 on either a SIG P227 or HK45c, I could get both for around $700 or under with some smart shopping, maybe $800 for the 45c...At that point I'd either have the SIG SRT trigger installed or if I got the HK45c I'd get the Lazy Wolf mod, either their LEM mod or their version of a short reset function on HK, lightening the DA to 8-9lb. So when all is said and done, the SIG P227 feels better, and shoots just as well, but the HK45c, and this is pretty common among my mates, feels like it's the better duty pistol, in and out of the military, and for private securty/LEO. Many of my friends really take to the LEM trigger after trying it out. And the great thing is if you get it in .40 (which likely means getting it cheaper by $100-150), it shoots nearly as good as the 9mm, and while stopping power is nearly the same if we're talking +P and ammo, I think the .40 polycase +P and +P+ ammo is the superior round. Polycase recoils a bit less, too. SIG is fantastic, and great for most gun owners, but if you plan on really heavily using your firearm, and you can do a coin flip on SIG or HK? I'd get the HK, superior engineering, more durable, slightly lighter. Right now I'm sticking with my SIG 1911 but the HK45c is definitely in my future.

Is the felt recoil on the HK45 less in your opinion? I never got to try them side by side, I'd say the HK45 felt less than my P220 Carry but considering the HK45 is longer, has HK's epic recoil reduction system and the weight is nearly the same when loaded....I am just curious if the P227 feels about the same . On video it looks like it had a tad more muzzle flip or at a more upward angle, and looked like it was recoiling a bit more but that's harder to tell.

Great video! Couple of points... my sample of the HK luminescent (glow) sights, as well as the TruDot tritiums that are HK OEM are both steel. Did you verify that your set is polymer with a magnet? That would indicate a manufacturing change somewhere along the line and may be worth noting. Also, the "false positive / hickup" felt mid stroke of the double action pull on the HK is the hammer "half-cock" position. This is the position of which the hammer falls when using the decocker. Therefore, this position is the starting point of the double action pull if loaded with normal protocol by dropping the slide and then the hammer with the decocker. In contrast, the video illustrates the double action pull by pulling the trigger, letting the hammer fall fully forward and then pulling the trigger again without resetting the hammer to its "normal" double action starting point. (I apologize if I misunderstood what you were describing.) The SIG looks awesome and I think I "need" to add one to the herd:) Thanks for the comparison!

As a left handed shooter i will give my 2 cents. The decocker on the sig is in a good position to use your trigger finger to decock. I prefer righty mag release for the same reason. Slide stop release i just slingshot it. The hk i can use my trigger finger too to decock and actuate the safety but i prefer to use just as a decocker or replace with full ambi safety. The safety on the hk sits too high to get a comfortable thumbs over grip though. Not to mention the weird feel of the wide area it sits. The hk has super tight tolerances. I have never seen a barrel to slide fit this tight. Pistol field stripped with barrel in slide I can't move the barrel at all in any direction front or hood. Sig has better machining. My hk has minor machine marks inside the slide. The single action trigger on the hk is fantastic, mine is the hk45c if it makes a difference. The hammer looks like a drunken monkey molded this thing, yes its mim as are many of the small parts. Grip is pretty thin but not as ergonomic as the hk45 or the sig.

Question; I always hear you guys say that a magazine capacity is 10 rounds and then you mention +1. I never understood that. Does that mean that the magazine can actually hold 11 rounds then? If not, where is the +1 (in these statements) coming from? Thanks!
@hepek6910 жыл бұрын
The +1 means one round in the chamber. So you would have one round in the chamber and ten rounds in the magazine for the 10 +1.
@militantx066010 жыл бұрын
hepek If the magazine ONLY holds 10 rounds and I load 1 of them in the chamber; 10-1 = 9 rounds actually left in the magazine itself, correct? So to me, to say 10 + 1 (meaning 11 rounds) is a bit misleading. I'm new to this type of gun talk so thanks for your time to explain it to me.
@JustinOpinionChannel10 жыл бұрын
militantx0660 The magazine is fully loaded, and then a round is chambered. Then the magazine is removed and topped off (one round is added back), so that you have 10 (or whatever the capacity is) in the magazine and one in the chamber. Hence 10+1, etc. Two primary reasons for this: 1) a defensive handgun is of far less use if a round is not chambered and ready to fire; 2) You are able to maximize the capacity by the extra round. I hope that helps.
@hepek6910 жыл бұрын
militantx0660 Sorry I wasn't more clear upfront. Justin Opinion explained it very well in his comment. Personally, I choose to keep a round in the chamber for the handgun next to my bed. Others don't feel the same way.

I could happily carry either. I would pick HK over sig but id agonize over it lol. They are both so great...sig has better feel, srt trigger makes it damn near match worthy...that said check out USPs with a lem/sa mod. First pull is lem at same pull weight with da pull length and my god...search Sean Burrows here on KZbin for more info on that, lazywolf will do that mod i believe

Some of the comparisons are silly. The sights on that HK are standard sights! Tritium sights are optional, and they have a ledge for 1 hand slide manipulation. The HK45 also offers multiple variants, V1,V3, V7, LEM .. If $1,000 is to much for a polymer pistol, then it's a shame I sell so many $65,000 F-150's there made mostly of plastic. Even race cars, use polymer inserts for engine mounts. Both are proven platforms! The HK is a 21st century firearm. The SiG is the same design for years now since the 1970's. Also, even though the frame is metal, it's aluminum, so once that black coating comes off good luck. Plus Aluminum is not the tough, hell carbon fiber is tough. HK 45 anyway!

Both made in the US? I thought Sig was Austrian and HK was German. Am I wrong about this? Also, higher bore axis is a good thing??? You obviously haven't shot the CZ 97 or a Tangfolio or the Sarsilmaz K2 45 against these pistols.

Nothing beats the HK

Not a really good comparison due to the fact that you can get the HK45 with night sights and in my opinion the HK45 is more accurate than the 227 in my hand the sig grip doesn’t fit me well at all while the HK is like a glove.

Own both shoot both there really is no comparison. The HK is an awesome looking pistol and has great ergos, thats were it ends. None of the research and development went into the trigger at all. Double action is horrible and stacks like crazy. Single is better but not by much. The trigger reset is ok but it has a fake reset that you have to train around. The Sig is in a catagory all to its own. Double action is smooth and single has some take up and then a crisp break. If you get the SRT its even better. Both are reliable both have great fit and finish but honestly with regards to the HK I've seen better triggers in guns half its cost.

MrWicked98 Talking about the issue with your HK, Is it an HK USP 45ACP or HK45?
@Blakehenry119 жыл бұрын
sfqu1 There's the USP 45, the USP 45 tactical and then the HK45. All three are make by HK and all three shoot the 45ACP.

Just to follow up a year later, the 227 developed a problem with the sear pin, it broke and locked the pistol up. It was an easy fix but you shouldn't have to deal with that with a $1000 pistol. On the HK45 the trigger eventually smoothed out with the HK45 and to this date has not failed once.

I owned a HK 45 C , the slide release was ridiculous loose , I call HK and nobody was able to explained why it was loose , after 1500 round got worse , after 3000 round I notice some wear on the polymer around the rail inserts , the trigger was horrible , nothing compare to Sig SRT , is a overpriced gun that do not offer more than any other polymer gun like ,Glock , XD < XDM , or MP pistols for much less money , FNX 45 is far superior gun than this , the Sig 227 is basically a Sig 226 in 45 ,227 have the option to get 14 rounds of 45 , come with nigth sights , SRT from factory and outstanding Sig Costumer Service , the HK did not come with night sight just luminova , also just come with two magazines of 10 rounds , and they are extremely expensive and there is not any other option of after market hi capacity magazines , this gun just got its fame for Larry Vickers and all the Seals deal , that by the way they still carry the Sig 226 , thank you for the video Sir.

Everything you said was moronic and badly spelled and or grammatically incorrect. Polymer inserts? Are you talking about the EXCESS polymer on the frame rails that's completely normal to come off with use as the gun settles. Its supposed to come off you idiot! I have over 11,000 rounds through my USP45s and HK45 never had a single problem. FN is a superior firearm? Have you ever held the FNP 45? It feel like it was put together like a LEGO model. And SEVERALLY users have had feed and mag issues over and over. You're not a shooter. You're a woman who likes to whine. Justin Opinion, good video

+Cosaco 1969 Racist? A woman is a race now? There have been some HK45's with loose right hand slide stop/release levers. You can order a different lever from HKParts.net which should fix that. I just put a deposit on a HK45CT (the tactical does come with Meprolight Night Sights). I can't wait.

2 things the 45 did right was how they handled the spring with the buffer. That and the barrel o ring was a extremly big plus. Granted im sure sig would offer ipgrades that wont match those 2 things but be just as good. The 227s very big plus is the aluminum frame. Aluminum i know will last alot longer then polymer. How do i know i i didnt shoot either. Actually i shot my grandpas 227, well. Hit your hand on aluminum and do the same on polymer. Tell me wich hurts more.
@antoniotula2622 жыл бұрын
Grandpa's 227??... the 227 only came out in 2013. My friend in NY still has his 220 he bought new in 1993 so yes its lasted nearly 30yrs. The G23 I bought that same year also still works fine. Both aluminum & polymer frames will outlast the service life of either pistol. Poly frames have been in police holsters from Alaskan cold to Caribbean heat for over 30yrs with no problems. So have aluminum framed pistols.

Jimmy Marini LOL, someone made that Bob Ross comparison before. I take it as a compliment. Might have to work in saying, "maybe in your world...." into a future video. :) Thanks for the comment.
