I'm not sure if you're still looking for a holster but I have 2 options for you: a cheap but reliable leather IWB holster from Amazon a company called Flower & Gun, or what I'm currently waiting on is a Vedder IWB Kydex holster. They make an OWB version for the P229 legion SAO as well!

After I put a Hogue hand grip this became my best gun. My groups got tighter and I could shoot from distance just as i could with my larger gun. This is now my favorite gun.

Love my legions. But I stick with the DA/SA. If you master the DA you can pull any trigger. Plus no safety.

I bought a Sig P238 as my first pistol and anything I've shot since has not measured up in how a SAO trigger feels or works for me. Call me spoiled from day one! I've started browsing different makes of 1911s for my next purchase, but after absorbing some reviews of the P229 Legion SAO, I may have to save up a bit longer. Thanks for sharing.

Sig SAO converted me from 1911s. I highly suggest you get one if you can make it work. I promise you'll love it. Grabagun does payments and has 0% options I believe

I'll have to check one out. Still have my early sheet metal 220 but I've never been able to warm up Sig's. But that undercut may do the trick. Most of my 1911's have that "Luger" undercut rather than the usual straight undercut.

Sig definitely hit a home run with this one. It's like a hybrid of a p229 and 1911, with the best features of both. That and the compact size makes this one of the best EDC pistols I've ever seen in SAO.

I’ve got the 220sao and the 938 in the legion series... I’m getting my wife the 238 legion for our 5th anniversary....and now it looks like the 229sao legion too... Crap I’m gonna be broke for Christmas.....lol

What sights would you prefer, vs. the ones that come with the pistol? I'm a newcomer to firearms, but those sights don't impress me either.

Don't get me wrong, they are great sights for factory. After starting competition and taking a few class I've gotten used to and prefer the thinnest front blade possible and a tight rear sight. I went with a Trijicon HD xr front and night fision rear and love them.

Honestly it's personal preference. I started with DA/SA and now love SAO. Biggest thing is if you like a safety or not.

With the safety off the SAO is way faster than the DA/SA. With that I would NOT suggest carrying it without the safety ON. The trigger is very light.

@@rayclay2299 thanks for the comment. i actually already bought a SAO legion. loved it. not that different than the DA/SA. i personally think the SAO is actually safer with the safety off because you have to slide the back hammer in the back position before you can fire. in DA/SA you can fire no matter what you just have a longer pull but it will fire.

Hey Mike! I've gotten very comfortable with and prefer SAO so I would have to say the SAO. The single action is still a bit better in my M11a1 right now but having 1 trigger pull all the time vs 2 takes the cake for me.

TheFallingHammer totally agree I have the p226 SAO and love it, but had been looking at the M11A1. I wish the safety’s were not as pronounced and I actually wish there was no pronounced beaver tail on the p226 SAO. I honestly don’t notice a difference “functionally” when shooting with or without a beaver tail. I love the flat trigger on the SAO! Love the channel bc I love the sigs and not a lot of channels cover them like you! Thanks-Mike

What are your thoughts on the SAO vs the DA/SA version? I want the 229 that I can only find in SAO or the 226 in DA/SA. I'd prefer the 229 for better grip and concealment. Great video.

The only 229 SAO is the legion. They also make one in DASA. I started DASA and ended up loving SAO A consistent trigger pull is what won me over

Or I can get the p229 legion rx SAO which I think will fit my hand better but not sure which to go with. I guess I feel the DASA is safer lol and prefer the 229 compact size.

@@unclejoemode the size difference isn't massive but the 229 carries easier. I started carrying DASA with my M11a1. Under stress getting 2 shots off at the same spot isn't the easiest. A ton of people say it's easy but it's easy to brag on the internet. I can get a knee jerk double tap off with DASA and have them within a foot of each other. I easily cut that in half with SAO. I started off anti safety but fell in love with 1911s. Once I got used to that, sig SAOs were the perfect gun for me. My trigger pull in the M11a1 is about 7.5 pounds DA and 2.0 in single. My 229 SAO is about 2.75 pounds. If you are more comfortable with DASA you can find a 229 legion in the same configuration DASA or SAO.

I just purchased the Sig Sauer P229 Legion SAO with the safety on both sides. I haven't fired it yet. How do I lower the hammer back to the regular position after racking in a round in the chamber without it firing?

You Don't. The hammer stays cocked when you rack a round in the chamber.

1911 style, while holding the hammer back with your thumb youll press the trigger and slowly return the hammer back to its normal position. Youll simply pull the hammer back when ready to fire (assuming safety is off)

Is it possible to buy this gun in .40 and put a .357 sig barrel in it?

229 SAO only comes in 9mm right now. You can swap a 40 slide on it and use a 357 sig barrel. The only problem is the 40 slides are wider and the safety will not clear the slide to engage. So you can get it to theoretically function, but the safety won't work so I wouldn't recommend that at all. Ask me how I know 😂😂

where did you get the mastershop adjustable flat trigger in your X5? looking to buy a cheaper x5 and upgrade trigger

That is the factory "mastershop inspired" trigger the legion comes with. It's not the adjustable flat trigger the mastershop x5s come with. I have a x5 short with the 4 way adjustable trigger that was curved and found a flat bladed trigger on gunbroker and swapped them but that's a whole different ball game.

@@bhouse1545 if you get one, spend a bit extra and make sure it has the 4 way adjustable trigger! That is a must have and game changer. You can adjust pretravel, overtravel, trigger pull weight from 2.2pds-3.5pds and the distance of the trigger blade from the grip.
