@@IbrahimLucas I have had it a day now and I had to go into settings on my D7100 Nikon to adjust the lens. On my camera it's the AF fine tune. The focus was off but seemed to correct it. It's been so gloomy and cold here I haven't had a chance to do much yet.

I like your enthusiasm! My advice is to start with a second hand or budget camera with a kit lens and practice a lot. Work on fundamentals like: lighting, composition etc. If you master those you can take sharp and beautiful picture with pretty much any camera. Good luck!

So the focus problem at 3:30. Did you callibrate the lens with the usb dock? This lens needs finetuning for sure. Looks that your lens is back focussing. My copy is callibrated on all the focus distances and focal lengths because I had the same problems.

Hi Audiman, thanks for watching! The lens was a rental and I don't have the dock. Which camera do you shoot with? I used the Canon M50, which is a mirrorless camera. If I'm not mistaken mirrorless cameras should not have problems with back or front focus.

@@IbrahimLucas Use Dslr so back or front focus is indeed a concern because of the phase detection. Mirrorless uses AF contrast detection so indeed no issue.

Hi B.R. Srihari, thank you watching! Unfortunately I have never shot with the Canon 17-55mm so I can't tell you which one is better in terms of image quality. All I can say is that the 17-55 has a little more reach than the 18-35mm. On the other hand, the 18-35mm gives you more light when it comes to low light since it has a 1.8 aperture.

Hi Leathea, thanks for watching! Which camera do you have at the moment? The quality of photos in low light situations are also determined by the sensor of your camera. Full frame cameras are in general better than APS-C sensor cameras. Because the full frame sensor is bigger than the APS-C sensor it can capture more light. There are APS-C cameras (Sony a6400 or a6600) that will do as good or even better than some full frame cameras. So, sensor size is not the only factor to consider. If you want to take sharp portraits and you're on a budget, then this is a good lens for you.

@@IbrahimLucas she have a canon 400d camera from 2006 that means the camera is 15 years old she got it from a yard sale for 10 bucks and the lens for 3 dollars it’s a tamron 18-200 camera lens and I was like it took some great pictures but the wedding she did all the pictures came out blurry so she need a better camera lens. And you said go with a full frame camera well what you think about the canon 5d mark 4 30.4 megapixels camera. So let me ask you something what would be two solid camera lenses for the full frame camera I just need two’ and for my crop sensor I want four lenses

If you liked the photo samples that I’ve shown in this video than yes, it’s good a good combo with an 80D. Since the M50 and the 80D both have an APS-C sensor. If not, then check out Canon’s 16-35 F/2.8.

the sharpness for the price would be an issue for me Christopher Frost Photography reviewed this lens in 2013, but his copy of the lens was razor sharp from corner to corner at 2.8 perhaps there's more factors

He confused sharpness with focus. He has a rear focus issue with the face at distance. When comparing edge to edge sharpness you have to compare objects in the same focal plane. The section of the bridge wasn't Sharp because it wasn't in focus. That section didn't get in focus until stopped down. This lense does not disappoint for the price but there are better options if you're willing to spend a tad bit more.

@@ahmadelsiwi5557 for me 1.8 isn't as important as what you're missing on the long end. I like creating background seperation with distance not stopping down. A 17-55 at 55 2.8 is more appealing to me than 35mm at 1.8. I'd even say the 24-70 ii non IS would be a better choice but that's because I appreciate the reach more than the f1.8 constant (THOUGH 24MM ON A CROP IS NOT WIDE ENOUGH). Indoor lowlight I'd just go with a 1.4 prime. This lense does hit a sweet spot but I'd rather have a 1.4 prime and a more useful zoom range at 2.8

@@Truportaroc thanks for your feedback. I use a 50mm 1.8 prime for low light and as you said, I went with Sigma 17-70mm 2.8-4 zoom lens for everyday use. Im not sure what I am missing if I don't get this lens. Cheers

Hi Daniel, you can use it on the A7RII, but keep in mind that this is a lens made for APS-c sensor cameras. So, you will not be able to use the full range of your full frame sensor.
