i was debating whether to get the 14mm or the 14-24. i went with the prime because I can use the APSC crop mode and get a 21mm equivalent out of it and the prime is F1.8 vs F2.8 of the zoom

Can you tell me how does autofocus perform on Sigma L compared to Panasonic L mount lenses on the Panasonic S1?

I would say for photos the panasonic is quicker. I feel like I wouldn't shoot autofocus anymore with the panasonic autofocus. There is noticable hunting in the background even when the subject is in focus.

I purchased the Sigma 24mm L mount lens. I was quite horrified to find out that it does NOT have a smooth ramping aperture. If you throw it into auto aperture, the damn thing will stair step on 1/3 stop landings. It just stair steps up and down as it opens and closes. This is ridicules for a native mount lens in 2020!!! I called Sigma and they told me "It's NOT made to be a video lens...." It's really silly because the same Sigma for Sony E Mount versions do NOT do this.

Cliff Totten were you trying to use a follow focus on the aperture ring? It is nice having manual lenses for stuff like that. My favorite lens on the Panasonic GH5 was the voigtlander nokton 17.5 f0.95

Josh my favorite lens for the GH5 and GH5S was the voigtlander Nokton 17.5 F0.95 so I’m sure I will love the Sigma 35mm on the full frame

Egocc F Thank you. I used to live in Hawaii which is the surfing Mecca of the world but now I live in Tahoe so there isn’t really much surfing to film. I travel every once in a while to film surfing but not nearly as much as before
