@@Butrnife15 His training "techniques" are much quicker because of the inherrant hedonistic calculus animals do. But it's not training your dog its making them fear you. I never needed to make my rottweilers fear me to get them to do what I wanted (eventually.) The danger of his techniques are that anyone your dog does fear or respect is seen as lesser when you are not around and your dog will challenge them, this is where the method becomes dangerous. I've been using the good old neutral negative response (praise and reward behaviors that you want do not react to behaviors that you don't want.) method for training my golden retriever. This little guy is thickheaded and makes it challenging but he is changing his behaviors, and we are making daily progress. You don't need to dominate the dog though, but people take the path of least resistance that yields the quickest response.

Subjecting dogs to those stressors can cause them to suppress their behavior out of fear, which is the "quick results" people see. But scaring and hurting an animal creates stress and distrust of people, increasing the likelihood of behavior issues in the future, including aggression. That probably explains the idea that they might be more dangerous to someone other than their primary trainer. In reality, they're more dangerous in general. But you know, quick results are all people see at first. I used to be a fan of Cesar myself! 🤷‍♀️

I really enjoy "It's me or the dog" because Victoria, the trainer, is completely focused on positive training (once she had a pair of owners wear a shock collar and shocked them to show how painful it was for their dog, which was very satisfying to watch)

I work with dogs and trust me the whole calm and assertive thing has nothing to do with being masculine. The dogs don't give a shit if you're male or female. You have to be assertive because they can't understand the words you are saying so you need to indicate the fact that you are in charge in your tone and you have to be calm because you aren't trying to scare them or freak them out or make them angry, you're just trying to establish a power dynamic. (also positive reinforcement ALWAYS works better than negative reinforcement so the BEST way to train dogs is with love and patience as well as showing that they are not in charge of you.)
