I wouldn’t tell you if I knew, it can be an uncomfortable or embarrassing thing for you to admit to a person. So, chances are, if they do know, they probably wouldn’t tell you, because they care about you and don’t want you to feel embarrassed. I guess I meant that sometimes someone might admire someone to such an extent that they feel embarrassed about anyone knowing, because if your admiration is less far along then it’s easier to confidently expose to everyone else around you. I guess if someone was in a position in which a lot of other people admired them, then what the video is saying would make more sense, but I can see it’s referring an environment in which secret admiration would be more what you’re looking for, but it’s describing a less secret kind, so it’s a bit contradictory. I agree fully with what you’re saying but I just think the video should’ve been clearer, I guess, or it’s acting like the type it’s describing is the only one there is/those signs are the only ones looking out for.

I have a tendency to "mirror" people. I'm not sure why exactly. I feel it's a way of connecting with people. I'm not always conscious of it. I find if I'm around someone for more than a few days I will start to use "their" phrases or start picking up similar speaking patterns. Sometimes it's because I like someone as more than a friend, and sometimes not. It might just be taking an interest in another person and showing respect. If you're not sure why someone is "admiring" you, have a conversation with them. The more you get to know the person, the more you will find out about how they might feel about you. And if it's not what you were hoping for, at least you might have a good friend!

People use others for their own personal gain, yeah. Both of my narcissistic parents, and my narcissistic older brother literally FLOCK to me for validation and approval because we make a perfect storm. Me being here, on this video, you can imagine I have an interest in personality awareness and self-improvement and such. All it took was me revealing my interests eight years ago for me to get bombarded with them presenting me with their needs for pretty much a decade. We all slip into natural behaviors without realizing it... Families and friends tend to support eachother, even in the ugliest of ways.. Your comment makes it sound like these people need someone to look down on, or guide, for whatever reason. So often do mentors become dark. Learn more about your situation but be careful how you act with your newfound knowledge: there would probably be no good in antagonizing people you depend on. Knowledge is power, act weak when you are strong and they'll expose themselves again and again, revealing their worst to you, strengthening your knowledge of them and your situation. My advice: Keep learning. I would look for people who simply want to understand you, who resonate with you and have no underlying agenda in communicating with you. It won't be easy, but keep searching and they'll show.

I specifically do the second thing. Not to only one or two people, but all my friends. I wouldn't be friends with them if I didn't have. good opinion of them, so when they aren't around I still speak highly of them! I also hope it lets my other friends know I do the same with them.
