Thanks so much for watching this video! 😊 If you like, share your expected due date with other mommies here and let them know: they are not alone! Or maybe, you have given birth to your baby already? If so, what were the signs that you noticed 24 to 48 hours before you went into labor?

Doctor told me to wait for another 2 weeks when i last checked up at 19 October. My due date is 2 November. My doctor told me your baby head is not engaged and also written os closed. I am walking and staying active also doing squats. Currently i am at 39 week and yet no labor pains. However i have notice small change in belly appearance. It is lower than before . Kindly suggest me some advices . I am waiting

@@aysha7350 Hi there again Aysha 😊, that's good news!! When your belly is now hanging lower, it means that your baby is most likely engaged! For anyone who may be discouraged about not being dilated at all yet during your doctor's appointments don't worry! For me my water broke on my due date and when I went in to get checked (3 hours later) I wasn't even 1full cm dilated yet. I still ended up having her later that day once my contractions started naturally about 12 hours later. So don't worry if you hear lots of other pregnant women saying they are dilated since 37 weeks for example. I felt so discouraged hearing that other mamas were dilating but for me it ended up happening very quick ❤️💕 Sending my love to all of you pregnant mamas and wishing you a safe and healthy birth!

I’m 2-3cm dilated (depending on who’s measuring) and I’ve been stuck here for weeks. I would not advise telling people that 2-3cm means labor is 24-48hrs away. You could stay there for weeks.

Hi there Alexis 😊, thanks for sharing your concerns! 😊 Well, actually, we use words like "normally" and "chances are" throughout this video in order to account for the fact that this may not be true for all women! We even refer to another one of our videos in which we tell you what you can try to dilate faster in case that, what we say here, does not apply to you and you don't go into labor within 24 to 48 hours. Also, keep in mind that it could also happen that your water breaks and that you still don’t go into labor within 24 to 48 hours. And it could even happen that your contractions come every 5 minutes, are strong and last for hours although you are still not in labor (which can be the case when you experience "prodromal labor" for instance). However, these are expectations and will not apply in most cases (luckily 😅). Still, be assured that we appreciate your feedback and we will try our best to make more careful statements in our next video! 😊 All the best for you and your baby! ❤️

You guys are awesome. I used your videos to dilate faster and they really helped. I went to my check-up and my gynecologist told me that I was not dilated and booked me to be induced after two days if I had nothing happened. I was 39+5 weeks then. I started having contractions at around 17:00 and thought they were Braxton hicks but they intensified as I was going to bed, i went to the hospital before 01:00 am. I was in active labor when they were taking history and we didn't finish it when they checked how dilated I am, to my surprise they said it's time to go to labor ward as I was thinking I was going to take longer like my previous labor. It took few contractions, my water broke and they told me to push when I had a contraction. I pushed twice and my daughter was born. She's weeks old now 😊. Much love from 🇿🇦 South Africa

I am so proud of all my Pakistani ladies finally realising that our healthcare system is good for nothing and finally standing up for themselves and learning about our own bodies!! We have been treated dumb for ages! People think natural birth isn’t possible without medical interventions! And even the people are so stuck on these concepts that it’s impossible to even make your family understand.. I can see that in a few years, we will be able to fight these stupid hospital policies which only benefit the healthcare provider and not the mother who desperately needs peaceful births.

Hi there Eli 😊, thanks a lot for your lovely comment! 😘 We are very happy to hear that you like our work!! 😊 Unfortunately, so far, we have not done a video on home birth. In fact, on our channel, we mostly focus on the preparation for labor. The delivery itself (i.e. first two stages of labor) is a topic that we discuss more in our childbirth class because it requires much more time to discuss things like birthing positions and, most importantly, what you can do if labor does not progress as expected. Nevertheless, we do share lots of tips and tools that apply to home birthing here on youtube too. However, they are not summarized in one video. Instead, we discuss them in several different videos... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there Aysha 😊, thanks a lot for sharing! First of all, please don't be worried just yet! We know that many women are, when they are in week 39 when they don't see any signs of labor. However, on average, a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. Anything within that time frame is considered "normal". So, it could be that your baby just needs a couple of more days. Also, please note that sometimes, things can go really fast. Only recently, we met a woman who told us that she was going to work in the morning, no signs of labor whatsoever. And by 8pm in the evening (on the same day), she held her baby in her arms 😊. That said, there are a couple of things which have helped other women go into labor in similar situations. 1. Nipple stimulation (just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes per day) 2. Reflexology (same as nipple stimulation: it may not be done with a few minutes per day only) 3. Acupuncture (this can work particularly well if your stress levels are really high; and please note: it has to be acupuncture; acupressure would most probably not help in your case) 4. Exercises on a birthing ball Of course, there is also Castor oil. However, personally, we always treat Castor oil as last resort simply because of the side effects. Also, you can never be sure if it is going to work... Still, it CAN be super effective for labor induction. We talk more about these tools and also how to apply them in these 2 videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs (reflexology, nipple stimulation) kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5jVk4KZaciYmLs (birth ball exercises) Most importantly though, please stop to worry! Worries and stress won't help you go into labor. So, ask your partner for a nice back massage, try yoga, meditation, acupuncture whatever you find relaxing! We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming delivery, for you and your baby! ❤️

Update: At 40 weeks 5 days I was still at 2cm and no sign of labor insight. I’ve tried all of the labor inducing tips and tricks (except for castor oil) and nothing has worked for me. I think my baby is too comfortable in my belly 🤷🏽♀️ I am getting induced at 40 weeks 6 days, wish me luck!
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
@@koalakisser9769 Hey Stayce 😊, thanks a lot for the update! We are very sorry to hear that it did not work for you! 😬 Unfortunately, the reality is that even in our clinic, we cannot always help a woman go into labor naturally. And we still haven't found the reason, why it is not working for some women. That said, not even scientists can explain why some tools work for some women, but not for others. But maybe, it's just as you say: baby feels too comfortable in there! 😊 So, all we can tell you now is: try nipple stimulation (although you have tried it already)! If anything can help you go into labor spontaneously before your induction (apart from Castor oil), then it is nipple stimulation... And if it does not help: just keep in mind that medical inductions happen every day! And all of those women give birth to perfectly healthy babies!! We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️

Hi there! You are MOST welcome!! We are super grateful if you find our videos helpful!!❤️😊 Yes, you are right! Under NORMAL circumstances, these are symptoms that we would expect to observe... Just keep in mind that every woman is different. For example: sometimes, it takes WEEKS for a woman to dilate. Moreover, it could happen that a woman's water breaks and she still does not go into labor (although in that case, she would normally be induced because the baby is no longer protected from infections)... So, as always in pregnancy, it's really a matter of how a woman experiences the last days before labor... 😊 We hope this helps 😊

In fact, BILLIONS of other women have successfully done what you are about to do! And if they can do it, YOU can do it as well!! So, when you think about labor and birth, don't think about the pain that it may cause you or other things that may scare you. Hi there Chelsey 😊, oh poor you!! 😩 Yes, sometimes, dilation does not progress in a steady line which is why it can happen that women get "stuck" and nothing happens. 😩😩 However, there are many things that a woman can try to progress: 1. Nipple stimulation (just keep in mind that it may not be done with a few minutes per day) 2. Reflexology (same as nipple stimulation though: it might not be done with a few minutes per day) 3. Acupuncture (mainly addressing stress level; and please note: it has to be acupuncture; acupressure would not help in your case) 4. Exercises on a birthing ball (they can be super effective here) We talk more about these tools and also how to apply them in these 2 videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs (reflexology, nipple stimulation) kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5jVk4KZaciYmLs (birth ball exercises) We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and for your baby! ❤️

I was hit head on in a car accident a week ago at 30 weeks. Now 31 weeks. Aside from injuries to me, my baby is showing huge signs of moving into my pelvis. Pressure, lightning crotch, he is head down. And I look dropped now. I sustained some pelvic injuries and lower back as well as seat belt injuries. But baby looks fine, and apparently I have a long cervix still. Could I be going into labour earlier now? Lightning crotch is unreal. This is my second baby. 1st hopeful vaginal birth though.
@CareAboutLittleOnes2 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😘, we are sorry to hear that you were involved in a car accident! ☹️ Unfortunately, it is not possible to tell us if you could be going into labor earlier. This is something that only your doctor can say based on your check-up. We can only tell you IN GENERAL that sometimes, labor can indeed start earlier after such events. Not only because of the physical impact of the accident on your body. Such events can also lead to an earlier labor because of the shock (i.e. the mental impact). However, NORMALLY labor would then start right after experiencing the shock. And not weeks afterwards. That said, it is very important that your doctor keeps observing how you and your baby are doing. Also, if you believe that your baby has dropped already, then we recommend that you talk with your doctor immediately because in some cases, if a baby drops very early, it can be a sign of preterm labor... So please, don't hesitate to talk with your doctor... Unfortunately, that's all we can tell you! We still hope it helps a little! 😬 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Try to induce and some Dont do that even ...so my biggest fear is water breaking ...😢it will be very helpful if you tell us what should i do exactly once water break and especially if the contraction haven't started ....how long can we wait for contraction to start ?
@CareAboutLittleOnes9 ай бұрын
Hi there 😘, we are sorry to hear that! Normally, they would try an induction first. It is quite uncommon to go straight for a C-section... 😬 NORMALLY, when your water breaks, they would wait for 48 hours. If contractions have not started during that period, they would induce... This is - at least - the policy in many hospitals in Europe... We hope this helps! 😘 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

I’m currently 39 weeks and 1 day. Yesterday I was dilated 1cm so my OB did a membrane sweep. I was experiencing very strong contractions when walking but when I rested they were there but not as strong. I woke up at 3am with strong period like cramps that have been hurting my lower back. I took a bath but the pain still hasn’t resolved. My husband also massaged and it helped when he was doing it but once he stopped they it was hurting still. I am currently having cramps still that are farther apart but my lower back hurts so bad. I’ve tried changing positions but nothing works and when I stand or walk I still get super strong contractions. What does this mean?
@CareAboutLittleOnes2 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, based on what you describe here, it very much looks like you are going into labor. 😊 A typical sign of contractions is that nothing that you do makes them go away. A massage can certainly help ease the pain, but it won't stop the contractions (that's why it's great to have massage treatments during labor). So, right now, you are probably in prelabor, or most likely even in early labor. So now, you just need to observe your contractions. Eventually, they will develop a pattern. They will come in closer and closer intervals, they will become stronger and longer. In other words: soon you will hold that sweet little baby in your arms!! 🥰🥰 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️ P.S.: As always, please don't hesitate to call your midwife in case you are worried in any way about what you experience!

Am 39+5 days . There are contractions but they stop. My edd is 13 April 2021. What must I do am tired now i want to hold my baby boy please help
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there ❤️, Poor you!! We can totally understand! Every woman who was pregnant can relate to how you are feeling right now! At some point, you are just soooo tired and exhausted and you just want your body back!! But most importantly, you want to hold your baby in your arms!! ❤️❤️ Some things that have helped other women in your situation are the following ones: 1. Relaxation because it helps keep your stress levels in check (stress hormones can block the release of labor hormones which is why relaxation is so important). Try a massage treatment, try yoga or meditation or whatever you find relaxing! 2. Nipple stimulation: women who had at least some contractions already, are much more likely to have even more contractions with nipple stimulation. In this video, we explain how it works: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs 3. Exercise (IF your doctor allows it): exercises on a birthing ball or going for a 30min walk per day are great ways to go into labor spontaneously. That's not only what scientists have found. It's also what we see at the clinic all the time... We explain how exercises on a birthing ball work in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5jVk4KZaciYmLs. 4. Acupuncture and/or reflexology. We help women naturally induce labor at the clinic with acupuncture and reflexology all the time (however, it is only likely to work if you see lots of early signs of labor, like for example, mucus plug discharge, bloody show, first contractions etc.). If you cannot find a professional therapist, you can also do acupressure and/or reflexology yourself. (In this video, we teach how: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs). Just keep in mind that the effect of a professional treatment will be much stronger... We really hope that this helps you go into labor! You too deserve the most natural delivery!! All the best for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️

Hi there.. You both are doing great job.i am 36wks 2 days pregnant.i have mild contractions for 3 hrs.but now it has stopped.is it the sign of early labor r Braxton Hicks ?
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! 😊 Did you notice that your belly has dropped after the contractions stopped? It is very common for women to have contractions for 2-3 days in week 36 of their pregnancy. They have the purpose of "pressing" the baby down the pelvis (i.e. to engage the baby). Interestingly, there is not really a term for this kind of contractions in the English literature. However, they are not a sign of early labor and technically, they are not Braxton Hicks either... We hope this helps! 😊 All the best for you and your baby! ❤️
@alyssamaciel18393 жыл бұрын
What if I’m just having pain in lower back and pelvis that last all day but no broken water bloody show or anything just the pain? I couldn’t get comfortable even if I layed a different way or was sitting up. I was 3 cm a few weeks ago I’m almost 37 weeks now. Not really sure how dilated I am now. The pain was a little better from walking but once I sit it’s comes right back. The pain last a while like 10 minutes stops then comes back but the pain isn’t getting stronger it’s just same like 5 out of 10. So I’m not to sure if it’s contractions, Braxton hicks, or just regular pregnancy pain. So I’m not to sure if it’s worth going into hospital for if water isn’t broken or anything just pain but it’s not like I’m dying buy it does make it hard for me to get comfortable because it does feel like same pains I had with my first baby. Should I go in or not? I’ve been having pains on an off for about a week now but it’s more today than other days
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there Alyssa 😊, in general, if you have any doubts about seeing a doctor or not, we always recommend talking with your midwife because only they know your particular pregnancy case. So, only they are qualified to tell you what's best to do in your particular case. We can only tell you that in general, as long as your contractions do not come in closer and closer intervals, they are most likely not true labor contractions. You can also do a test: whenever you feel the pain, take a warm bath and see if the pain improves. If it does improve or even disappears then it is unlikely that you experience true labor contractions because true labor contractions do not improve by anything that you do. It is often difficult to say which stage a woman is in during the final days of a pregnancy. But there is something which is called "pre-labor" phase when contractions come and go as it pleases them and when the pattern does not really change (in terms of frequency and length). So, maybe, what you currently experience is the pre-labor phase... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

That's exactly how I felt at 36 weeks. I still feel a lot of pelvic pain and I'm currently 38 weeks and now I'm starting to feel what I think are contractions but they aren't consistent
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
@@evaelvira9905 Hi there Eva! 😊 Thanks a lot for sharing your case! If they are not consistent, they are most probably not true labor contractions. But this can change very quickly. You can easily do a test: take a warm bath of 20 min. If the pain gets better or even disappears then it is unlikely that you experience true labor contractions. Because true labor contractions do not disappear, no matter what you do. If the pain does not get better, then you have to observe your contractions. At some point, they will come in closer intervals, get longer and stronger. This is how you know that your labor progresses... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤

Hi there Joreen 😊, not necessarily! Unfortunately, this is very different from woman to woman. Some go into labor within days after losing the mucus plug. @CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😉, week 36 is really a bit early for the cervix to dilate 😉. Keep in mind that the cervix of some women won't start dilate before they go into labor which can be in week 40 and sometimes even later. Other women start to dilate in week 37 already. So it really depends on your body. However, there are tools which you can apply to help your body prepare for labor so that you ultimately dilate faster. We explain how these tools work in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs. We hope this helps 😉 All the best for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️

If I have gone to active labour two times already by breaking my waters first (not feeling any contactions before this), I guess it's likely to happen also for the third time? 🙈 I have also been wondering if giving birth becomes a quicker process which each child? What are the statistics? 😁 My second child was born about 9 hours after my water broke, so should my third child be born quicker or should I assume it takes about the same amount of time?
@CareAboutLittleOnes2 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, good questions! 😊 So first of all, yes, studies do show that, once you gave birth to a baby, subsequent deliveries go smoother and faster UNLESS baby is not in an optimal position. But even when baby is not in an optimal position, things would normally go much faster compared to the first delivery. However, in regards to the question, how long it takes to go into active labor after the water breaks, things are not so clear. Even if you went into labor only 9 hours after your water broke with your second, it could still take longer with your third baby. But as we always say: the most important part is that the delivery itself goes fast! 😊 We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

How long can first time moms wait ? Currently 40 weeks and 4 days haven’t felt and labor signs
@CareAboutLittleOnesАй бұрын
Hi there 😘, unfortunately, that's difficult to say in general because it very much depends on the case! We know many women who gave birth to perfectly healthy babies in week 41. But we also know some women who ran into troubles at 41 weeks (not life-threatening troubles, "just" complications). I respectfully disagree with the fact that being 3 cm dilated means you're going into labor within 24-48 h. You can be dilated for weeks before you can actually go into labor. Where did you get that info?
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, you are 100% right! Unfortunately, dilation does not always progress in a steady line. Indeed, as you correctly say, some women are dilated for weeks before they finally go into labor. And let's be honest: it could as well be that your water breaks and you still don't go into labor (at least not in a natural way). Plus, you can also have contractions every 5 minutes and still not be in labor (which is the case when you experience what is called "prodromal labor"). Still, these are the 3 signs that we feel NORMALLY mean that labor is really close based on what we observe at the clinic. But we should have really made it more clear in the video that there can be exceptions. So, thanks a lot for your input! All the best! ❤️

We can assure you that we know LOTS of women who were 0 dilated when labor started and they all had a normal delivery - unless of course, something else went wrong. But certainly not because of lack of pre-labor dilation. Besides, why go straight for a C-section? Why not try an induction first? We strongly recommend that you see another doctor! I just want to know if I am in labour or by when I will be in labour. I very badly want to have my baby in my arms and by the way my edd is 17 Oct
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, based on what you describe, it is unlikely that you are in true labor. True labor means that the contractions come in certain intervals and have a certain intensity. Most importantly though, the intensity and frequency changes over time. So, if you observe that the contractions come in closer and closer intervals and get stronger, that's a sign that you are in labor. We explain this in detail in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIiqZ3qMhN6ZZ8k Unfortunately no one can really tell you when you will go into labor eventually! That's something no one can predict... It could be another 3-4 weeks. It could also be tomorrow. 😊 Please don't worry about that too much! Trust us: once you are in labor, you will know! At least, your body shows you that it is preparing for labor! That's the most important thing of all! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby! ❤️

Hi I am 39 weeks ftm , was said my cervix is soft , admits 1 finger ,no effacement , but my cervix is still very posterior and the head isn't fixed .. I have been having Braxton Hicks on and off , do u think the posterior cervix and the head not fixed yet would pose as a problem ? Would love to have your opinion
@CareAboutLittleOnes2 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, first of all, please note that a woman can still go into labor, even when the cervix is posterior and the head not fixed yet. So, neither one of these things really poses a problem in terms of labor. What COULD happen is that you go through a "longer" period of either pre-labor or early labor. During that phase, the contractions will bring the cervix forward and they will also help the baby engage in your pelvis. On the other hand, if your cervix is already soft, it is unlikely that that phase will be considerably longer. Also, please note that sometimes, women are in pre-labor without being aware of it. And that's because it is really very difficult to distinguish pre-labor contractions from Braxton Hicks contractions. So, what we normally tell women in a situation like yours is to give the body time. Your body knows what it is doing and it will resolve both "issues" at some point, either before or after you go into labor... Of course, if you have any doubts, it's always good to have a chat with your midwife... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Do you know about vaginismus? I have it, 36 weeks n nervous about tearing.
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! ❤️ Vaginismus is an automatic response of the body and it's a reaction to the fear of vaginal penetration. And the key to solve the problem are relaxation techniques, particularly breathing can help. Moreover, one thing which can also help are exercises which require gentle touching to get the vagina used to touching. In other words, systematic desensitization of the vagina. This may require time, but it can certainly help. And one thing which could also help are products like Aniball or Epi-No. Not sure if they are available in every country. However, they are balloons that you insert into the vagina in order to gradually stretch the vagina and perineum to reduce the risk of tearing. These products can probably also help with vaginismus if you systematically apply them over the period of a couple of weeks... Apart from that, we have heard that talking therapies with a professional therapist can help too. But we don't know for sure... Unfortunately, this is all we can tell you! We hope it helps you!! @CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, just to clarify: did your doctor really say your pelvis is high? Or did you mean your baby is high above your pelvis? Also, did she give you any additional information, like is your cervix soft or enfaced, is your cervix posterior or anterior, is your baby engaged etc.? Looking forward to your reply!

@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
@@faqihasultan2210 Okay, well, it's difficult for a woman to make a decision in such a case. First of all, dilation is only one thing. The question is also, is your cervix soft, is it enfaced, is it posterior or anterior? In our opinion a soft cervix is even more important because only when your cervix is soft, it can dilate. And dilation only happens when you are in labor because you need the contractions for that. So, ask your doctor: "why do you expect me to dilate without me having any contractions???" Also, when she says the baby is very high, it does not mean anything. A better information would be the exact station of the baby in the pelvis (like -3 or -4 etc.). Also, please note that some babies only drop once the woman is in labor (although it mostly happens in second pregnancies - in first pregnancies, the baby normally drops before labor starts - but this can still happen over the next 2 weeks). So, we would recommend talking with your doctor once more. Ask her why it needs to be a C-section? Why not an induction? Ask her about all the details of your cervix. Finally, also keep in mind that a pregnancy lasts between 38 and 42 weeks. So, why rushing into a C-section? Are there medical reasons which explain that rush? These are the kinds of questions we would ask. Also, we recommend getting a second opinion. This will make things easier for you in terms of making a decision! We hope this helps! ❤️

Hi, can you tell me how much time until birthing a baby I have after the 5 1 1 rule ( that is said to be time when you go to hospital)? My midwife is about 5 - 6 hours from my house, so I am not sure when is the time to call her? This is my first pregnancy, I cannot even imagine how fast the labor is, so any advice how to recognize that moment to call the midwife who needs about 6 hours to come, would really help!🙏 How about 1 contraction every 30 minutes? Is that ok reference? My fear is that I will not recognize real contractions, I know that sounds funny, but I really can take a lot of pain and go through it... I am 36+4 weeks and I lost my mucus plug( clear, no blood) two days ago and now I am confused...I had 3 times contractions in one day ( tomorrow only one sesion of contractions) and they seem like Braxton - Hicks... Thank you for everything that you do!
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😘, that's really a great question! And unfortunately, it is very difficult to answer. 😬 The reason is that we don't know how long your dilation is going to take. NORMALLY, in first time moms, dilation will take much longer than in second time moms. However, there are exceptions which is when labor starts with very strong contractions straight away (although those cases are extremely rare). So, we wouldn't worry about that. We did record a video on this topic, to give you a bit of insight into how long dilation can last in first time moms: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZvGe3enh7N2nNU Just keep in mind that we are talking about average numbers in this video! But regarding your question: The 5-1-1 rule means that it is normally time to GO to the hospital (not to actually be there). However, when your midwife takes 6 hours to get to you, you will normally have to call her before that. That said, 1 contraction every 30 minutes is normally gonna be too long. Also, because at that stage, you will not know if your labor is going to progress or not.... 1 contraction every 10 minutes COULD do. However, please keep in mind that in some women, at that point, labor will progress extremely fast. And in other cases, it will progress slowly enough for you to have plenty of time for your midwife to come. And again in other cases, labor may slow down again. So that is why we are saying: we don't know what to tell you because it depends on how fast your labor progresses. What does your midwife suggest? Is there no way that you can find a midwife who lives closer??
@jednamalagaravaaaaaa Жыл бұрын
@@CareAboutLittleOnes thank you! I understand, it is hard to know, but wanted just to have some kind of clue how fast does it all go. Well, she said to call her the first time I feel contraction, but the problem is I am not sure how does it feel ( I do have some "pain like" tightening of the belly, about 3-4 sessions a day, so I assume that are Braxton - Hicks and not the real ones...) So I am trying not to miss my labour, haha😂, although everyone says that I will know... But, my pain threshold is high, that is why I need some other way tracking the right time to call her. Unfortunately, she is only option in my region, there aren't so many midwives and they have a lot of work. Thank you for answering me every time, I will definitely tell my baby about how kind and helpful you were ❤️❤️🙏
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
@@jednamalagaravaaaaaa Hi there, okay, we completely understand your situation. So, the thing to look out for is "regularity". Braxton Hicks contractions, for instance, are not regular at all. They come and go as it pleases them. However, when true labor starts, the contractions will form a regular pattern eventually. They may only be 30 minutes apart initially. And then 15 minutes and so forth. The time gap is one thing, what is more important is that they come REGULARLY. So, all we can recommend doing is TIME your contractions! Even now. Time them and see, if they come approximately in the time gap OR if they even start to come in closer intervals... And then tell your midwife to use her Ferrari instead of her Skoda... 😅 We really wish you all the best!! Don't be scared! Everything will be fine! We also know lots of husbands who had to deliver the baby in the car! They all were doing well! When it goes fast, their are hardly ever any complications... So you will be fine. When it does not go fast, then there is plenty of time for your midwife to arrive. In both cases, it will be fine! 😊

Hi natalie! I'm 38w + 2 days, my USG shows "Internal cervix not well seen" What does that mean?? I've not got labour pains till now...
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there Hanna 😊, that's a tricky one! 😊 I have never seen this in any report. So, I can only guess. Probably, your doctor meant the "internal os", not cervix. So basically, your cervix consists of an "inner opening" (the opening to your uterus), which is the inner os, and an "external opening" (the opening to your vagina), the external os. Here is a picture so that you understand what I mean: www.shutterstock.com/de/image-vector/female-reproductive-system-90803414 When your cervix thins out (efface), then the external os will obviously disappear, which means that the doctor can have a better look at the internal os. And then, once your cervix starts to dilate, it's actually your internal os which opens up. In other words, it could mean that your cervix is not yet effaced. But not sure if this is what your doctor really meant. But it's my best guess! I hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby! ❤️

Hi there 😊, please note that week 36 is WAY to early to get contractions! Don't expect them before week 39. Some even get them much later. Breast stimulation will most likely not work at this point, simply because it's too early (and not safe at this point). Besides, you don't want to give birth to your baby now because you are still preterm... The best thing to do is to start preparing your cervix for labor in week 37 (exercises, acupressure, reflexology, dates) - which we show in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPImZWrpdybsLs and to postpone nipple stimulation to week 39.... And then their dilation "gets stuck" for days or even weeks before early labor starts (please note that - in this video - we talk about the start of active labor, not early labor). However, the good news here is that you dilated at all! Because in later pregnancies (i.e. not first ones), it would be great if a woman could at least dilate for 2cm before labor starts. That's because normally, this will not only make it more likely for you to go into labor. It also makes an induction more likely, in case you don't go into labor spontaneously... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Correction: we wanted to say: it also makes an induction more likely to be a success, in case you don't go into labor spontaneously ;-)

@@CareAboutLittleOnes Hi! Thank you for your well thought out response. I truly appreciate you taking the time to do that. I actually am aware of most of what you said. I just thought it could have been mentioned for newer mamas who might be expecting their labor to start anytime just because they were told they were dilated. Thank you for all your videos. I enjoy all of them 🙂

@@amel-jg5ui Yes, you are absolutely right! We should have made this clearer in this video. Im 36 weeks 5 days with baby #2. I'm 2cm dilated and thinned abit (went to the hospital thinking my water broke and found out . Not sure if I dilated more.. I have been experiencing prodromal labor since 35 weeks. Today I had menstrual cramps most of the day today but got a break from the intense early labor contractions last night that was getting on and off, I was finally able to sleep last night. Is there a chance I'll go to labor early?(with my first i went into labor with in hours of losing my mucus plug and bloody show..I lost my plug in pieces this pregnancy from 33 weeks on and had my bloody show on Friday still no full-blown labor yet)

Hello Ashleigh ❤️, obviously, you are going through A LOT and we are very sorry to hear that! Feeling these very intense contractions - although you are not really in labor - is probably the meanest thing that can possibly happen, particularly, because you don’t know if there is gonna be an end anytime soon. Your case reminds us of a woman that came to the clinic about 2 years ago. She too suffered from prodromal labor which started early week 36 and then suddenly stopped early week 37. And then, 1 or 2 days after the prodromal labor contractions stopped, she lost her mucus plug (and had a bloody show). BUT: eventually, she only went into active labor one week later. Unfortunately, it is impossible to say if it is going to happen for you in a similar time frame. It is true that NORMALLY a woman goes into labor within days (sometimes hours) after losing her mucus plug and after having a bloody show. However, as you can see, other women may have to wait another week (sometimes longer) for their labor to start. So, there is really no way to tell how it’s gonna be in your case… On a positive note, every single woman with prodromal labor that we have treated so far at the clinic eventually had a superfast labor and delivery. So, hopefully this will be the case for you too! We really wish you that the rest of your pregnancy won’t be such a torture for you!! All the best for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️

@@CareAboutLittleOnes thank you ! I finally got two days break sort of, more so at night when it was really bad. I just get the occasional painful one, tightening and pressure during the day now. It's a relieve. I can get a break and gain some energy for whenever the real thing is going to happen. I can't wait until he is here ❤

@@ashleighflood6262 Thanks god you can get at least SOME rest! We really wish you that from this point forward, things are more relaxed (well, at least as relaxed as they can possibly be at the end of a pregnancy). Plus, we can totally understand that you cannot wait to hold your son in your hands! It's an incredible feeling that we are very familiar with ;-)

@CareAboutLittleOnes2 жыл бұрын
@@blessingajayi9672 Hi there! 😊 Try to do it for 15 min per side for one hour! And then do this up to 3 times a day. We know it's A LOT! But this is the very protocol that has helped many women go into labor....

Hello I have a question I delivered my first 2 at 37w 3 and 5 days and my 3rd 35w exactly and currently 37w exactly with my 4th how fast cam I go into labor? Also I am at 4 1/2 cm dilated and at 3 last week but not feeling any contractions just mild cramps and my belly gets super tight a lot 😑 this didn't happen with my other babies as soon as I started contractions they just picked up and delivered hours later but with this one been having lots of those cramps and tithing since week 35 and I'm just so tired 😫 of them lol is it possible to dilate without contractions it's one of my fears?

Hi there 😘, please note that it is not uncommon to dilate to a certain degree even before labor starts, particularly if this is not your first pregnancy. So, this IS possible. However, only to a certain degree. For the biggest part of your dilation, you are going to need contractions... We do know similar cases like yours. In some cases, there were obvious reasons why those women experienced the kind of symptoms you experience too (like for example because baby is not in a good position). In other cases, they experienced similar symptoms although their pregnancy was absolutely normal, no complications whatsoever... So, all we can tell you is: talk with your midwife! If you are concerned that you could be in labor without you knowing, don't hesitate to make the call! Most likely, what you experience are "only" pre-labor symptoms that eventually will transition into symptoms of true labor. However, it is important that you call your midwife in case you have any doubts about that or in case you sense that something is not right... We hope this helps! ❤️ We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Ughh I'm going through similar. I'm 38 weeks 2 days and 4.5 cm dilated having contractions everyday bit nothing happens no water breaking nothing smh. I have 12 days to my due date this is my 5th child. I've never had to deal with this in past pregnancies

Bloody show means "bloody signs", from the verb "to show", not from the noun "the show" (like a theatre show). I think you're German, so it'd translate to "blutige Anzeichen".
@CareAboutLittleOnes7 ай бұрын
Thanks for that clarification! 😅 But does knowing that the term "show" comes from the verb "to show" make the term "bloody show" sound any less "frightening" to pregnant women - particularly given what is meant by it?

Could u tell me plz mostly labour start from which week?actually its my 36 week and o always feel pain😶
@CareAboutLittleOnes3 жыл бұрын
Hi there 😊, unfortunately, this is difficult to say in general. Most importantly, there are different stages of labor. Most women go into active labor from week 38 onwards. However, before that, they can already be in early labor which is when they feel or do not feel any contractions. And then, there is also a "latent labor phase", which starts before early labor. In that phase, you may or may not experience contractions. But the problem is: even if you do, they may disappear when you take a warm bath which is why many women believe that they are Braxton Hicks when in fact, they are real. If you are feeling pain already in week 36, then it could be Braxton Hicks. So try to change your position or activity when you feel that pain and see if the pain disappears. Moreover, it could be pain in your pelvis that you are feeling because your baby has dropped. At this stage of a pregnancy, it is really difficult to say where the pain is coming from. 😊 That said, if you are concerned, you should always talk to your doctor! By the way: we talk more about how to identify real contractions in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIiqZ3qMhN6ZZ8k Maybe you find it helpful! All the best for you and your baby! ❤️
