I am 39 weeks 4 days my midwife performed sweep will I go into labor ? I have no signs of labor after checking she said babies head down. This is my second delivery. First one was induced labor
@CareAboutLittleOnes8 күн бұрын
Hi there 😊, unfortunately, it is not possible to say if you will go into labor after the sweep or not. Some women do, more or less straight away (or at least within 48 hours). However, we also know cases of women who only went into labor later on and others who did not go into labor at all... It really depends on your case! Hang in there though! Soon you will hold that sweet little baby in your arms! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Can a mucus plug be white ish clear? I’m 38 weeks almost 39 and I felt thick discharge so when I felt it, I managed to pull out a bit of small thick white mucus like substances and when examining it started to dry out like a booger. I’ve never felt this in my whole pregnancy and this is my first.
@CareAboutLittleOnes9 күн бұрын
Hi there 😘, at the end of a pregnancy, most women experience some sort of discharge, most commonly, white-ish discharge. Sometimes though, it is difficult to determine what exactly it is you are looking at because it's often a mix of various kinds of discharges... As long as it is white-ish though, it is normally not a reason to worry. If you ARE worried though, please do talk with your midwife about it! Thank you! We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

The finger as a measurement on the belly was useful. I thought that baby needed to "drop" but my baby is sitting high. I've been monitored and had scans done, and midwives believe time is right for inducement. I'm at 37 wks. On the weekend, I had to give urine & blood tests, was on baby heartrate monitor for afternoon at hospital. Urine sample showed a darker colour, even though i'm well hydrated (drinking 2litres water/day). Apologies for the graphic details.

@CareAboutLittleOnes9 күн бұрын
Hi there 😊 , yes, the mucus plug does not always come off in one piece. That is why you might see it over a period of several days. And the other thing is: losing the mucus plug does not necessarily mean that you will go into labor anytime soon... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there 😘, babies do all kinds of awkward movements and most of them are totally normal. Our best guess is that what you observe is just another example of such awkward movements. Nevertheless, if you are worried that your baby could have a seizure, the only right thing to do is to see a pediatrician. Thank you! We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤

Hi there 😊, unfortunately, it is not possible to tell you exactly how many weeks pregnant you are, because one month consists of 4 weeks. What you can do though is: based on the expected due date that they gave you, count backwards to see how far along you are. There are also calculators on the internet which can do that... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

@CareAboutLittleOnes15 күн бұрын
Hi there 😘, please understand that this is something we cannot tell you because it totally depends on your case... We can only this much: once the water breaks, the baby is at risk of an infection. Therefore, it is extremely important to regularly monitor the baby and see what's going on! But since you say that water keeps coming, your water probably did not really break. Maybe there is "only" a tear in the amniotic sac? We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

@CareAboutLittleOnes15 күн бұрын
Hi there 😊, please note that week 38 is quite early to naturally induce labor. In our programs, we explain how to prepare the body from week 37 until week 40. I am currently 39+2. At my last appointment at 38 weeks I was not yet dilated. I have been doing things to help me dilate and prepare my body! Could I take castor oil? If so how much?
@CareAboutLittleOnes15 күн бұрын
Hi there 😘, in general, we don't recommend trying to induce labor if there are no good reasons why that baby has to get out of there fast (not sure if such reasons exist in your case?). That's because staying in there for longer (as long as it is not too long), has also advantages: it gives the lungs more time to mature and other things. Therefore, we generally don't recommend taking Castor oil. If you still want to take it, we recommend talking with your doctor about the exact dosage because in our experience different doctors recommend different dosages.... Thank you! We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️
