Personality traits don't matter? 🤔 In my case, I'm usually in the 95th percentile in conscienciousness. It means I can perceive most people as lazy, undisciplined and sloppy. So, personality traits have to matter somewhat.

I agree that it's quite surprising. But think about it this way. It's not so much that highly conscientious people are only compatible with others who are also highly conscientious. Rather, you happen to be a highly conscientious person that values conscientious behaviors in others. It's the valuing of a trait that matters. There may be other aspects of personality that aren't as important to you in a relationship, and for those traits dissimilarity wouldn't be a concern for your compatibility. So it's really the valuing of certain traits that matters, over personality independently.
