I'm honestly not surprised that Sigvald went crazy at the end times when fighting Krell. There is indeed an actual thing called narcissist rage, which is where you push a narcissist to far and they go berserk. As for his unlocking requirement of awakening tribes, I could see how that works. In essence awakening a tribe brings them to chaos worship, which some of those will be slanneshi based. Where slannesh crops up, Sigvald will probably eventually arrive just to see if there is something interesting to take/do/indulge or kill .

Awakening a tribe doesn't "bring them to Chaos worship", Norscan tribes worship Chaos as a way of life. When you're awakening a tribe, you're actually liberating them from the yoke of the Skaeling or Varg.

In the lore, Archaon didn't even have to do anything to get the Norsemen to join in, they just instantly caught wind of his coronation by Be'Lakor and journeyed to swear oaths to him.

Yeah pretty much. He was exactly the kind of person to turn down a boost simply because it might go against his idea of beauty. On top of him probably refusing a boost Slanesh would probably not want the mutations of such a boost to mar his perfect champion.
