When Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stood up and accused India of being behind the killing of a Sikh activist on Canadian soil last year, the world took notice. South Asia correspondent Avani Dias travels to Punjab where tensions are high and the authorities are watching. This is the Sikh homeland where a banned separatist movement is fighting to create its own independent nation of Khalistan. Avani visits the family home of the man murdered in Canada, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, and learns of unusual activity in the lead up to his killing.

As a Pakistani, it is our duty to give back our portion of Punjab back to the sikhs. Actually our Pakistani portion of punjab is 70% of pre partition Punjab (original Punjab). We must show a big heart as we the great Pakistani nation care so much for the Sikhs. We are very tolerant of other religions too. ❤ Khalistan will be made in Pakistan but Sikhs will have to convert to Islam first.

As a Pakistani, I would like the sikhs to make an independent country by merging Punjab from Pakistan and India. Infact the great Sikh emperor’s kingdom had its capital in Pakistan. But the sikh population has declined drastically in Pakistan since independence since most of them either fled, got wacked off or converted to our religion of PEACE 🕊️ 🤲 . Pray for my sikh brothers and sisters. Their gurus were best friends with the mughals (!NOT). 🤗

@@gregsmith6139yes sikh leaders fought the mughals occasionally but overall were very cordial. The mughals might have killed a few hundred thousand sikhs and also took their women but overall they were on good terms. Pakistan has best interests of sikhs in their hearts. But don’t know why sikh have largely disappeared in Pakistan 🇵🇰
