@@jamiehuynh9622 fyi silat firstly invented as assasin technic in indonesia and malaysia, after century of war etc. it develope to be a form of martial art. hence why most of silat "jurus" or what you called movement targeting vital area such as throat, crotch, back of the neck, eyes etc. unlike other martial art that movement was meant to immobilize the opponent, silat were meant to kill. that's why you can hardly find silat competition, because it is not for "inside the ring"

@@japanesejesus4610 In some other videos I see some "MMA IS DA BEST!!!!" mocking silat. They think it's in the same as Taichi for the older people. They only see the show, the "pencak" but not the "silat" itself. When I was a kid, I often see street fighting in our small town here in Sumatra. Never see anybody died but when I grow up I realized some of them should've been dead if it wasn't for some bystanders brought them ASAP to hospital or somewhere else to stop their painfully wounds.

I have heard about the disadvantages of Kerambit against Combat knife, but Silat itself were meant to be mainly used to fought at uneven area (eg. swamp), limited space or space full of obstruction (rainforest jungle). Kerambit is an optimal extension for Silat for those area where space are limited or movement are slowed.
@NHafiziKamaruzzaman Жыл бұрын
I would say Kerambit have more advantages than combat knife.. usually it will be harder for your enemy to estimate the trajectory of a kerambit's blade..and while combat knife is good for stabbing, kerambit works better in severing and cutting the flesh and tendon..in the past where people engage close combat, having an enemy who used kerambit on you will mostly resulting to death due to bleeding (even after you managed to kill them)..the only way to fight them is to use Parang (Malay version of machete) and killed them before they can come close to you..

The jab itself with that little hop is fine but it's when he goes down to the patella tendon (or where he should be going it seems this is just random placed slicing) he doesn't explain the vitality of getting behind the knee cap, just my personal observation though.

Not putting Your dress methods down but do people wear socks on the streets ?? if your gonna train you need to practice also with what you dayly carry and what you normally wear .other wise all the expansive moves do you no good if your wearing 2.4 lb boots each and tight jeans .... Just my opinion , and i also train in water running and my katats . and use slightly heaver training weapons than i would carry due to , you get used to using more weight and when u use the less weight your also faster.. and more accurate than before..
