Strike counts in Venue check ins also. Check your total points before and after a venue check in and you will see that it gives you the extra points

How to cover Hexes? I was doing many measurements on the undiscovered map, but they weren't registered, any idea?

Sometimes, it takes awhile before the map updates, so maybe check it again in a few hours.

Like the other reply said, it takes a day for the map to update. But you should get the total tokens when you submit the measurement. Also you can see the stats in your profile (hexes covered)
