Maria's "classic" outfit was based on a Christina Aguilera look from the 1999 Teen Choice Awards. It was the product of a Japanese team trying to convey "sexy" to a western audience. It worked great in the early 2000's, but fashion has changed a lot since then and it's now very dated in a bad way. I'm not surprised nor upset that it was changed for the remake.

Thank you!! Tired of people complaining about the outfit change and it's like "it's not attractive nowadays" Maria's outfit now reflects on what people see as sexy nowadays

@@RETROORDIE I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's an unlockable outfit. The new outfit is a lot more timeless and is based on some of Sato's concept art for Maria. It doesn't conflict with the rest of the time period while also not being blatantly dated.

Unfortunately a lot of people aren't going to touch this game because people rage baited the hell out of it and so a lot of people aren't going to get it because they were given the impression that it's a bad game and it hasn't even been released. So once again the community ruined something which isn't surprising

I honestly love the new Maria look and I am a long time SH purist fan… I think the original Maria has cartoonish clothes… looks less funny this time around

I feel like Bloober team is at least trying. I hope that this will be something that people enjoy. God knows we are due for anything Silent Hill. But until that time comes we will see my man. I'm hoping!

@@PragmatikReviews I’m truly stoked for it now after that trailer, idk anything about bloober but in the end if it does the series justice I don’t care who makes it at this point. Nothing will be as bad as downpour especially on its release being a buggy and broken as it was lol

When people compare the combat from this remake to Resident Evil remakes... I think they're forgetting that Resident Evil doesn't even have melee combat, whereas Silent Hill does (a lot) AND has shooting. Yet the shooting looks fairly similar in quality between the 2. Silent Hill 2 also has a much deeper story with interesting characters and lore (arguably the best in the horror genre) so its juggling a lot that it is at least doing well with.

The trailer left me hopeful. It seems to me that they cooked a bit. Compare the first James reveal in front of the mirror with the one we got now. It looked more overacted, silent hill 2 character act more like sleepwalking, like they are in a fever dream so it seems to me they changed it to match that. I am hopeful! Silent Hill 2 is probably my favorite piece of media ever and I believe it will be made justice to bring it to a new generation. And yes, I would love to see you comment on the 27 min gameplay video. You seem to be a very strict sh2 fan, just like me.

@RETROORDIE gamecube version original 2 was original.remake 1 was remake.that was a good one. remaster 2 and 3 wasn't good it was horrible 😫.

You mean remakes? Nah, you're tripping. 2 and 4 are some of the best remakes in the video game industry. Sure, there are criticisms, but saying they messed it up is just straight dogwater.

If you wanna play this in the best quality possible get it on PC or the PS5 Pro that is launching very very soon. From the Steam store listing of the PC version it says the base PS5 specs are only good to run this game at 1080p low/medium settings at 60 fps. This game is going to be incredibly demanding, but also I'm hype because this means the trailers are UNDER SELLING the game by a fair bit. The trailers are all running on PS5, the press previews are all on base PS5, so everything we are gawking over is the lowest settings @ 1080. If your looking for the PC version but need to upgrade your PC, AMD's new 8000 series GPU's are about to drop soon (fall is packed with drops) and are rumored to deliver 4080 performance for only 500-600$.

The reason Maria looks like this is cause Bloober Team has collaborated with Sweet Baby Inc , I bet they wanted to tone down her sexuality which is the whole point of her character also if you look at the recent gameplay video the introduction of Pyramid head has been changed too . Besides these two things the remake is looking real good . React to the gameplay video in due time .

There's no info about Blobber Team worked with Sweetbaby...perhaps another DEI company same as any other japanese company like Toei, Capcom or Namco, every western and japanese company are working with DEI companies unfortunately

So Eddy is funny to you just because he's fat ?... Maria's design was the original design intended for her in her conception. Isn't it interesting to have the opportunity to see what she was suppose to be initially from the devs ? I'm sure they'll let you unlock or buy the Christina Aguilera outfit somehow and if not, the toxic fans will cry enough about it for Konami to release it someday! The game's looking promising to me.

If the old clothes are a prize to beating the game I’ll be happy with it but if you need to pay for it like we did in the RE2 & 3 remake then ya I’ll be semi salty about it. I deff will be getting the game.
