9:31 completely forgot about this! I miss Team Silent so much. Gaming used to be better back when I was younger. Insane how Konami closed down Team Silent after this game and gave the Silent Hill IP to western devs to ruin. One of the biggest tragedies in the gaming industry.

I have also thought about rose tinted glasses but when you compare games of a certain genre you can clearly see that most games from the past (at least PC) are better than modern games in terms of quality, storyline and things like that. modern games might only beat them with graphics and maybe access since a lot of games are free to play.

@@theninjamaster67 graphics have increased and so has quality for a VERY FEW GAMES. most of the industry has shrunk (while we do have a boon for indie games, that is amazing) but the last couple of years got really bad with broken games, free to play, micro, pay to win and all that garbage. It seems like there was enough pushback from gamers so now game companies are fixing their act but overall you had better games, more attention to detail and more variety back in the day.

@@reallybigmistake Honestly I was mostly just saying the PS2 generation isn't all it's cracked up to be imo like people give it too much credit and I personally liked the PS3 generation wayyyyyyy better hence why my Steam library is mostly PS3 era games there are still some really good modern games but I do agree there's less to be excited for unless you look at the booming indie scene. Also don't get me wrong the PS2 era was dope and some of my favorite games come from that gen like Gun and Red Dead Revolver I just think PS3 did things a bittttttt better cause there's a lot of PS2 games that haven't aged well at all but every PS3 game I play even if it's one I never played back in the day there's basically never one that I think is bad specifically because age.

Yeah its shit. it runs at a native 100p but the framerate isnt improved so you get 20-26 fps in gta with very low view distance. the only game thats worth getting on ps4 is parappa the rapper 2. that game looks really beautiful.

You say in the description you're running in hardware, then you say in a comment you have to run it in software for shadows to work... then you say here that they're FIXED in hardware mode. I can confirm that in the latest 1.5.0 build the shadows are still broken as is described.

All PAL games (From Europe and Australia) are 50fps games, only Americans get up to 60fps, you're playing at a smooth framerate so don't stress about it :)

I use latest dev builds and sadly shadows in SH4 available for me only if "Blending unit accuracy" set to "None". All other values gives some almost invisible and glitchy. Also, the light sprites looks cutted near ground and walls which creates hard light gradients. I tried to use the build and settings from video description, but sadly it wasn't help.

I read online that I need Hardware depth , Blending unit accuracy ( set to higher levels ) to fix it but I am new to Pcsx2 and cannot find those settings anywhere. Please help!

I have completed both R&C 1 and 3 recently. There is heavy texture glitching due to mipmapping not being supported in hardware mode. And it looks like it won't any time soon either, since it isn't a trivial matter. In any case, I could play them both at 1080p with the texture glitches and some lag in intensive parts. Still I have enjoyed it very much. you end up getting used to it, and at least appreciate the extra resolution. On software mode there are no glitches. But native resolution is crap...

Out of topic, from every articles in internet, ps2 proved hard to emulate... even ps4 cannot made it. only small games was able. xbox360 games in xboxone, they managed to do it because xbox360 structure was similar to a pc. but ps streaming in pc, that's not a smart move even for sony. the point is, seeing how ps2 can be emulated in pc, even though it took years, still amazes me until now. great job for pcsx2 team, well done, well done.

+Diego Costa it's a texture filter for ps1 games so they look better when upscaled to ps2 resolution, not applicable to pcsx2 as it only works with ps2 games

+BigRuZ587 This software is cpu intense, so the other components is just another thread to help the emulation. If you have enough strong cpu, most of your lagging troubles are over. The amount of ram is not so relevant, 4 GB is far enough. Every graphic adapter that stronger than geforce 9800 GT will be fine. Recommended cpu is the i5 family. Laptop components almost always weaker than the same spec pc components.

+BigRuZ587 In GSdx plugin settings you need to enable the HW Hacks option and than check the Align Sprite box in Configure Hacks menu, that will get rid of vertical lines in higher than native resolutions (that option comes with v1.4.0). If certain games tend to freeze, you should try to disable the Speedhacks panel in the Emulation settings or check and close any unwanted program that runs in the background. i7 should be good enough, however there are weaker ones in that series too.

You should use the latest GIT, they are much improved than the ones from back then. Maybe try deleting your GSdx.ini in the inis folder just to make sure there is nothing left over

Roberto Ilo Horst da Silva the pc version has its own problems, yeah some of them can be fixed, but from what I heard, the shadows on the pc version look...really bad. Plus, roughly 6 hauntings from the ps2 version aren't on the PC version and getting the PC port to play at 60fps is buggy as hell.
