Before anyone else comments bout His cable management, please note: i got the same case as him (Mine is black and doesnt have a glass panel) and i can confirm that cable management isnt the strongest side of the case. It go like almost NO room behind the mobo for cables, and even worse if u got a non-modulare PSU. I luckily got a modulare PSU but i Still had to like sit on the Side panel until i was able to get it in place and gettin the screws in. And it even got a Huge ass Dent on the Side of it where the cables are. So cable management isnt really an option in this case

Next time, just put a pea sized dot in the middle of the CPU and apply the heatsink. It will spread out on its own. They spreading with finger method leaves air bubbles. Regardless, awesome video :$
@RiverNeo8 жыл бұрын
The Pea Method can leave air bubbles too.
@ilcugginoasmr23748 жыл бұрын
The paste has to be incredibly thinly spread. All it's supposed to do is fill the microscopic cracks and nooks in the "smooth" surface. I've done the pea method in the past but if the heatsink isn't properly tightened into place there can be too much paste and now the heat transfer isn't as efficient. Best method in my experience has been to spread the paste around very thinly using a nitrile glove (or plastic bag if you don't have gloves) BTW. I prefer wearing gloves when building PCs. No chance of finger grease on those contacts.

All "modern" (~8 years back) chassis that has the PSU mounted in the bottom has a vent facing downwards. But he used _way_ to much thermal paste and applied it incorrectly. He should've stuck with the initial drop he applied on the CPU and made the heatsink spread it out when he mounted it. Its only purpose is to fill the _tiny_ air gaps between the different (microscopically uneven) surfaces, nothing more. Too much and it acts like an insulator. The way he applied it also has a tendency to form air pockets in the paste when the heatsink is mounted. Pressing the heatsink down on a single "droplet" forces the air out. ESD is also just as dangerous as it always has been...
@TheMrVengeance6 жыл бұрын
+piratesmvp - How about you read your own source!? Literal quote from the blog you linked: _"If your PC case has some sort of grill below where the PSU sits, then you should install your PSU so that its intake fan is facing towards it. In other words, your PSU’s fan will be facing downwards. The reason for this is so the PSU intake fan will suck cool air into the unit from outside the case."_ It even goes on to mention that if you mount your PSU with the fan on the inside that it will suck in hotter air, which is sub-optimal if you want to keep your components cool. It only recommends doing this if your case lacks a bottom fan grill, and therefore leaves you no other option. Next time, don't try to correct others when you yourself have no clue what you're doing and can't even properly read a blog.
