Will using the slingshot help actually accelerate the return to normality with a banged up shoulder? Or does it simply allow you to work through the pain yet still damage the joints? Serious question. I've had shoulder issues ever since I began training. First with my left shoulder, now with my right. I hate it, but at the moment I'm limited to dumbell press because I have no pain and can really choose the correct plane of movement.

I just received my slingshot last night. I used it this morning. Thank you Mark Bell the Bench God. Slingshot is weightlifting gold. I have been having pain in my right shoulder and left elbow. I used it this morning. on my last two 5X5 sets. I was able to crank more reps out. Usually I would burn out because of the pain in my shoulder. Slingshot is the truth. Thanks for the video.

My max is 375ish. Bought the yellow and first day did 225 for 30. 295 for 20. 315 for 10 and jumped to 385 for a set of 4. I am real impressed with the product.

Ty for comment. I need yellow then. Pb 400 raw. Max usually 315 to 330

I broke my collar bone over a year and a half ago, and am currently having extreme issues trying to bench even 135. I just got a slingshot and am having my first bench sesh with it tomorrow, if I like how it feels I'll probably always use it for benching- until my shoulder is up to par at least.

Hey Mike, my dad has been using the sling for every set of his bench, besides light warmups, for about 3 months. Your thoughts on this? His bench increased at first, not almost going backwards. Hes very stubborn and wont give it up but just interested in your opinion.

I have been training for 9 months now.. at the start i wasn't even able to push 135 2 reps on the bench today i did 165 for 8 reps :) can't wait to hit 225 1 rep slowly getting there !
@stavk69839 жыл бұрын
+RawRawMedia .Skate 165 for 8? You can probably already do 225.
@Qcforever21219 жыл бұрын
+Stav k nope ! my one rep max is 205-210 approximately. I might get 225 in 3-4 months :)
@raygnicky9 жыл бұрын
+Stav k not with 8 reps of 165 based off my math formula his 1rm Max should about 205
@raygnicky9 жыл бұрын
+Justin17 my math is with 5 lbs and it's a formula i invented ....and if your doing 205 for 3 reps pending how those reps are performed you are correct you should be at 225 for a single touch and go
@hyperwolfco80216 жыл бұрын
So if the sling shot is assisting in the lift then if you were to lift more with it...wouldn’t it basically be the same as if you did the weight that you could do without it? I’m just not understanding how it increases your raw lifting more than lifting without it.

+NPC Bodybuilder Google is limited in 5/3/1 information due to its copyright protection. For a full break down on the programme, its methods and the training ethos of Wendler, its best to purchase his book. This should go for any information, if its not from the original source (e.g. a journal article) then its not credible information
@Perpetual_Eden9 жыл бұрын
+MarcusOsborne2 T Nation has a few articles on the original program and beyond 531 written by Wendler himself. I would definitely grab the books after reading the articles
@thehumblebardmusic9 жыл бұрын
Read those articles, they are a definite go to source as many are written by Wendell himself. I based my 5/3/1 cycles off most of his newer articles, before jumping over to Conjugate this week

Ever have bicep issues? I've been resting for about 10 days now but during bench i'll have a lot of pain in my bicep starting from the elbow all the way up to my side delt. Same when I squat (low bar) but it's not as bad. Any tips?
@chuckayers37756 жыл бұрын
Can you use it all the time when you bench my left shoulder bothers me and if I do use it all the time will hinder me from getting stronger using it all the time instead of just benching naturally. Also I don't believe my pr should based off of my slingshot. I got 500 With slingshot
@dessertstorm74769 жыл бұрын
Slingshot,chains,bands all make the strength curve increase towards lockout. But for most people the weakest point is off the chest, so what variations are best for that? board presses? Pause reps?
@SilentMike9 жыл бұрын
id disagree that "most" weakpoint is off the chest. but if thats the case make sur form is sold , extra long pauses + db presses
@dessertstorm74769 жыл бұрын
yeah ok maybe it's just most beginners are weak off the chest

+Phlegm Atic Spoto presses!
@TheCrizzan9 жыл бұрын
+Phlegm Atic I agree with Mike, long pauses and presses that give you longer ROM than usual. Incline barbell, incline dumbell, flat dumbell, and bars that give u ronger ROM like a buffalobar :)

Every review i have seen about slingshot people say slingshot doesnt contribute to your raw bench, do you think this helps you get stronger at all?
@SilentMike9 жыл бұрын
yes 100%. supramaximal training has proven benefits + slimgshot protext shoulders & allows you to train extra volume.
@josejimenez-gw5yl9 жыл бұрын
Well at the very least you can get used to handling heavier weight than you are used too so when you have it raw it wont feel so unfamiliar
@wlfzxq9 жыл бұрын
+Silent Mike I do like slingshot and i do think it helps. but how's that more volume? that's more volume for the slingshot not for your body. When I lift a ton with a crane, it doesn't add a ton of volume to me isn't it?
@SilentMike9 жыл бұрын
The slingshot does not lift the weight for you... its added volume because it is a variation much like close-grip or spoto press with benefits of accomodating resistance. I use it after my raw work etc.. much like a pause squat or stiff leg deadlift.
@patrickb44589 жыл бұрын
+sercan can google "gzcl how the slingshot saved my bench" and it's a good read on how one powerlifter really implemented the slingshot to increase his raw bench. the slingshot allows you to work through a full range of motion while handling high intensity weights (90%+, if you choose to go this high intensity). it's not an absolute neccessity but it's worth the purchase in the long run in my opinion.

hey dude how would i utilise if I'm doing the wendler 531?
@mikejaskolski16239 жыл бұрын
Use it after your main 5/3/1 sets. For example the template boring but big you do 5sets of 10 of the main exercise After the 5/3/1 sets. I would use it for the 5by10. Just my opinion though
@curtzgeorge889 жыл бұрын
+Mike Jaskolski those sets are used mainly for hypertrophy though and I'm using the basic 531 with my own assistence, So what I'm wondering is if I'm doing on a 5 week my working sets would be 5,5 then 5+, would I start at the top weight for an extra 3x5 or start there and pyramid up and on the 3rd extra set and perform a 5+ again?
@mikejaskolski16239 жыл бұрын
+curtz george personally I would just test out both ways and see what you feel will help you more in the long run. I'm sure there is lots of way to incorporate the slingshot
@curtzgeorge889 жыл бұрын
