Normal types are very well rounded on the whole, but them not being supereffective against any other type can make things tricky. With that said, what if we got access to the full spectrum of Normal encounters in Pokemon Platinum, could they beat the game's hardest challenge - a hardcore nuzlocke with only Normal types?

What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

4:19 Jubilife WAS supposed to have a gym but got scrapped in the final release. 1 time I soloed Roark w a overlevelled Staravia cuz I didn't feel like using anything else at that point. Chansey being caught in Heal Ball is perfect.

I did this run a few years ago, it was so easy with Blissey and surprisingly Bibarel because of his ability to double his stat boosts, Curse was so OP on Bibarel

@@Shovelglove545 for sure, though I think this was before Bibarel had Quick Attack, so I Ran Return, Waterfall, Curse and Rest. It was incredible to sweep the Elite Four with a Bibarel lol and Blissey was Serene Grace, Softboil, Psychic, Shadowball and Charge Beam. Those two were all I needed.

But I'm not very good at Pokemon, I just like doing Hardcore nuzlockes for funs lol they kinda revived my fandom for Pokemon

I was doing a Nuzlock of SS and I put it down for over 7 months just before reaching Mahogany town. I decided to just keep playing and not bother counting deaths anymore because I was pretty lost. Good thing I did, because I decided to scout out the level cap of the gym and wiped to the first guy's level 35 dratini. It got an agility off and proceeded to land and Crit 6 straight dragon rushes. All because I swapped my Lv 32 Ampharos out for my Lv 40 vibrava, expecting an iron tail or a t-wave.

Idk if you'll see this but you don't actually have to use defense curl the turn before rollout just has to have been used and pokemon not switched out. Might help in a future run

For my first run through of Gen 4 I used a Lopunny because I simply disliked boxing pokemon at the time, It was Adamant nature and basically carried any physical attacking lifting with it's surprisingly strong movepool and massive Return hits.
