The thumbnail might be somewhat uninspired, but I actually liked this review. It shows both sides of the medal. While you were positive about the game, you explained very welll why someone wouldn'r actually like the game. That's something more reviewers should do.

It's..... got some flaws in it's imitation unfortunately. There is a way to make intense difficulty fun like Umihara Kawase does, this game achieves that some times, and some times it doesn't.... and when it doesn't.... holy shit this game can be a repetitive miserable chore. Most frustrating gaming experience I've ever had.

I'm in the middle of developing a platformer with a rope-swinging mechanic, so I was worried that somebody already made what I'm making. This is a lot different than my game, though. Mine is more of a mega-man-style platformer, with melee/projectile attacks, as well as walljumping and airdashing.

I saw maybe 5 people comment about it, but it really does remind me more of Umihara Kawase than Bionic Commando. NitroRad, if I could recommend anything going by your thoughts in this video, PLEASE check out the Umihara Kawase trilogy since they ported all 3 games to steam 2 years ago. I even wrote some very solid reviews for all 3 games as they were released, it's truly one of my all time favorite series and I have a feeling you would really enjoy the rope physics based platforming in that series :) They're very solid games and the speedruns for them are crazy fast!

Plus i see some of the graphics very reminiscent from cave story ( eg the main menu the spikes the dirt/rocks plus the text boxes) Also the movement from the main character is super similar to cave story some of the sprites are the same the explosion particles and water are the most noticable I can notice all of this with all of my time i have spent exploring cave story and remebering the sprties and i like it Sadly my computer broke down and my cave story and any other games i had there are now gone As soon i get a new computer i will try and get this game to have that cave story feel
