Older Libertads too! Some people prefer the older style Libertads/Onzas.

I have several libertads put in coin containers from back in 2010 thru 2015. I recently went to my local coin shop and noticed that there wasn't any at all. I had stopped stacking for about 10 years and just recent started back. I have no plans of selling any of my collection. They didn't have a lot of the 90% silver, just the Kennedys, dimes, some cull quarters. You are right, those Libertads are hard to come by and the premium on them are very high.

You made an amazing point about Libertads in stock at LCS's. One of my LCS sell out silver Libertads as soon as they come in the door!!

I was going through my husbands stack. I came upon a tube of Libertads. He didn't know they were worth more,. When he got them about 10 yrs ago they were selling same as generics. I told him call and see if he had anymore. This was a couple years ago and he had more and sold a couple more tubes, all vintage ones for around $30

To me it depends where I'm buying them. I usually don't buy them the same reason I don't buy Eagles - low / zero security features compared to the Britannia so I buy those. That said each year I buy 1 x 5oz and 5 x 1oz from my main Bullion dealer that I trust.

Maybe next time include some examples of mintage numbers, American Eagles in 2023/24 compared to Libertad mintage numbers in those same years. Just a suggestion.

Mintages don’t mean anything with modern bullion. The reason old coins are worth money, is because they had to survive time. The modern stuff doesn’t need too survive anything, no circulation, and they come out damn near perfect at the mint.

For a collector, maybe. For a stacker, no. The premiums are too much for one ounce of silver.

I was finally able to get a 1/4 oz gold libertad a few months ago and it was deal !!! My new favorite 1/4 oz as well 👍🪙💰
