I been buying loads of British pre-1947 50% silver lately. Managed to get it for under spot off eBay including 1 rare 1838 fourpence containing about 1.9g of silver that is worth at least £18. 90% US silver is harder to come by here in the UK unless I pay the high shipping costs from the US. I probably got close to a kilo of silver in old coins.

90% silver commemorative and modern proof coins are unpopular because they are harder to deal with and more time consuming to test or verify. Pre-65 you only have to check the date and that it is a real coin. I've hear of reports of counterfeit dimes and quarters, but I haven't seen them in person, so this may become more of a problem and 90% less popular in the future. Clad and silver proofs will have the same dates and mint marks. There is also the problem of some less reputable companies will sell silver plated clad coins.

Not a good time for people to sell their gold and silver but that's what they're doing. I'm seeing mostly all sellers and very few buyers and it's likely to get much worse before it gets better. People are broke because of this wonderful economy. Just looked at my wholesale sheet, most all the silver buyback premiums have dropped to 90% of spot and they're selling many items at spot, some even less. Buckle up folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Life is good......God Bless

@PHUCKyoutube6895 күн бұрын
It won't drop to $10 an ounce unless gold drops to $1000. They will not produce silver once it drops below a certain price. It is not worth the cost to process the silver below a certain point, last I heard it was around $15 but energy and refining material costs at the time play a roll. It is an industrial metal and the cut in production would cause the price to shoot back up to being profitable to process. I would bet it is coming back down but I don't see it dropping below $20 except maybe a brief dip here and there.
