I'm not with this. I was wondering how many coins points. Do you get it one time and what is the $5 or $10? . how do people? For the most part recognize the value in a bartering system. Thank you

Yesterday i reached my goal. I have now 100 ounces of american junk silver 90 percent in half dollars, quartes and dimes. In total a face value of 140.45 dollar. It took me almost 2 1/2 years to get it. I live in Switzerland and american junk silver is hard to find and it's quite expensive. At the other hand i have now over 300 ounces swiss junk silver in 835 silver.

About 40 years ago I inherited about $1,000 face value of .25,.50 and .10 pre 1964 US 90% silver coins. Around 2012 I sold the .50 cent pieces and bought $50 Gold American Eagles with the proceeds. I'm still holding the dimes and quarters which eventually will be inherited by my children. I was tempted in the past to sell my current holdings but the state of the world nowadays gives me reason to keep on holding them. Who knows, it may take $5,000 in US bills to buy a loaf of bread pretty soon.
@floridastacker8 ай бұрын
Bob, great move on swapping into Gold. You played that well as Gold has outperformed Silver by a margin since 2012. Lol, $5000. Soon we'll be adding two zero's to the end of a $5 dollar bill.

Years ago, I did not like 90% because I did not understand the math that $1.40 makes an ounce because I'm one that likes to know exactly what I have. Once I understood that, I loved it and still do.

Half dollars are cool and feel heavy. May not be the best for barter, of it ever came to that. I still like them... Walkers and Benjies.

I have been buying ASE as of lately. As long as the premiums stay low, I will keep buying them. If silver spot price collapses, I will load up on a bunch of generic then. Until then, I will just keep buying eagles.

Working on a video discussing why sales of foreign silver coins are so low. I think you already know - it's because ASEs are now reasonable to buy. Thanks, Will!

I prefer Franklins, usually less worn so more silver. Also, don’t have to look at dates like 64 JFK. And also Mercs if not slick. If you’ve got dimes and halves, no need for quarters.
@floridastacker8 ай бұрын
Yes you usually find less wear with newer halves. These Walkers are above average but I've definitely purchased some disappointing ones from the bigger dealers online. slicks at times.

Is 17.5 face a good price? My Lcs had some today at that price.
@bobbystark37218 ай бұрын
I was thinking to this thought then saw the quality of some of his walkers. Some of them (many of them) were XF or AU. His price is fair.
@floridastacker8 ай бұрын
I think 17.5 is a good price. Cheaper than what I'm asking for these - you won't find that price online. That's a coin shop only price today. Not bad
@floridastacker8 ай бұрын
Yeah my coin dealer said these were nicer than average. Looking through them about 10 are missing dates or about 5%
@tomtharos44408 ай бұрын
They are in my stack but once I understood the 1.4 conversation rate I realized the spreads are huge and I’m much better off buying generic silver rounds. There is absolutely nothing special about 90% junk silver, especially Washington quarters and Roosevelt dimes, plus it’s actually worth less to a refinery.
@floridastacker8 ай бұрын
Yeah, you have to be careful, and it can be confusing. I priced mine below all the big dealers so i can make a little profit over what I paid but you do have to be careful when a new stacker with understanding 90%

@shinyshinyman37778 ай бұрын
I like these Constitutional silver precisely because it doesn’t say Silver and you can put them next to your regular modern coins in plain sight. Most burglars would not be able to discern that they are silver and thus less likely to take them as coins are heavier and considered less valuable than jewelry or precious metals that are readily recognizable. The drawback is that some are severely culled; thus there are less silver than what you are paying for.

More into Benjis than the walking Libertys. As much as I love that eagle on the reverse, when you order average circulated halves online, too many of them are close to slicks and not like the decent stash you have there. Not a problem with the Franklins.
