@@theballer4150 Not really form improvement. Nico always had amazing foot strike and form wasn't bad. he just race his guts out in big races. He was 16-17 in HS. He is growing into his body. No form work is needed for that. it's called turning 18 and growing into his body.

Elite runners on a dry flat hard grass surface would eat this course alive. Ya it could have possibly been a tad short but that was not a real cross country course. Not gonna run a time like that on a course like Rim Rock Farm in Kansas.

Gutsy move by Nico at 16:00 mark. He had nothing left. If he does the right training, stays injury free, and doesn't burn out mentally, Nico really going to do something great. US distance running has a great future. See ya in Los Angeles in 2028!

Big difference between this and LA 2028. Don’t forget you’ve got guys who are only 1 year older like Ingebrigsten that can run sub 3:30 1500 or Kiplimo that can run faster than Nicos 5k pace for a half marathon. Nicos got a bright future but on a world stage... we’ll see

Yo I totally agree! I totally think they should have just cut the audio in this video entirely and added a nice soundtrack OR FloTrack (or someone!) could have easily given a commentary throughout the race. No one likes a lawnmower leaf blower soundtrack!

i lived literally down the street from craig ranch. it’s incredible to see how big xc has gotten out here in vegas- as club wise it is a sprint city. there’s so many other beautiful parks and golf course that could be used, but i’m so glad to see vegas holding an ncaa race

Nico Young has vastly improved his form. He is not used to losing, so getting out-kicked at the end will help him in future races. Even though his past form looked uncomfortable, he was still running killer times. Changing what previously worked to produce great times could backfire. I’m hopeful that Nico will win future NCAA titles.

@@Meepmeep452 Boise State runner and he's not a bad runner. NAU and BYU are like (Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma) in football. Boise State holds up pretty well and has been an up and coming program. Right now they have a lot of younger guys on their roster. They just are not able to recruit Nico or Clinger type athletes yet.

Nico ran this like a boss. Take it out relaxed, then he starts to push at about 3 miles in, breaks the pack apart, only Conner can hang. Nico gonna run in front in NCAA too. Gonna be great to see. Amazing improvement in form. Gotta work on his finish. I predict top 10.

What is this setup? Corners so tight at the start you have guys getting forced into cutting them. A gas cart spewing fumes and dust into these guys’ lungs the whole time. Just seems very poorly set up.
