I have a 2012 1500 silerado 6 inc suspension lift on 35s. Im going from 6 inch blocks to 5 inch leaf springs 1.5 blocks. So beleive the sway bar is going to make it all come together.

The sway bar is going to make you a happy driver with the lift. You should have a nice rig with a good set of springs and a sway bar.

After nearly having a near head on on two lane highway at dusk, a group of cars went by , next group of 3 or 4, then for some unknown reason the lead car suddenly changed lanes in front of my Silverado, i had enough time to say a swear word and swear word and was onto the shoulder as it went by, their mirror was nearly against the body. After that like I did on my 83 Monte after engine swap a 454, the body leaned a little too much, added rear anti sway bar. My SS Nova added rear bar as well. After the the near head on decided it didn't lean hard at 55 mph want to improve handling for any other emergency. thank you for the video, my cars installed Addco, want to try Hellwig

I installed it on my 2016 I stand corrected I ran into the same issues as you.

Have a 17 Silverado, imagine the installation is the same. Hoping its an easy install especially laying on the ground in tight quarters
@DinkAround4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I don't think they modified much in the way of frame and chassis. Should be similar

@@DinkAround How do i move the plastic line holder on the axle tub? Its in the way on the right side
@DinkAround4 жыл бұрын
That has teeth on it that hold it in place. You can use a flat blade screwdriver to separate it and move it over. It's a little tight and takes some work but you can get it apart and slide it over.
@anthonymacneil22794 жыл бұрын
@@DinkAround Yes i got them off and didn't need to put them back on. Almost done just tightening everything. Didn't have that low numbers torque wrench so they maybe overnighted. Hopefully this won't hurt

Thanks for the video. Any thoughts on whether this sway bar will play nicely with Silverado/Sierra trucks that have adaptive ride control?
@DinkAround3 жыл бұрын
I don't believe it will have any negative effects. It's got a lot of motion and so long as the adaptive ride don't have anything mounted in the way, it should work fine.

Just ordered one of these so looked up some videos so I’ll know how to install when I get it but my question is which way is stiff an which way is looser in the adjustment???
@DinkAround3 жыл бұрын
The holes closer to the axle will be stiffer.

Did you have any issues with remounting the spare tire?
@DinkAround16 күн бұрын
Negative, spare tire never had any clearance issues

@@DinkAround Thanks, I have a 265/75/16 that won't fit flush. I've got it up, but it's at an angle and there's no room that I see to separate the support arms any further.

I have a 1990 Silverado just installed a 6.0 swap.. it has posi rear end and when I floor it the back goes all over the place loosing control.. would this help with that?
@DinkAround3 жыл бұрын
This would help in keeping axle hope down but you wod likely be better with Caltracs. You are likely rolling the leaf spring and need some support.
@smadaakram3 жыл бұрын
It will do absolutely nothing, a sway bar is only active in a curve, keeping the body more level side to side. A sway bar does absolutely nothing to control forward or backward motion.

Thanks for the video. I want to purchase one of these

Thanks for watching. I was unable to find any information on the sway bar and figured I would post what little I had for others.
@DinkAround4 жыл бұрын
Either way it's better than not having one at all and when you add on the thicker front and end link bushings it's even better.
@DinkAround4 жыл бұрын
I agree I think Hellwig is an all around better product. They know how to build a sway bar!
@JTrump232 жыл бұрын
Hey bro love the truck!! Question, Is that front and rear hellwig sway bar only for leveled or lifted trucks? Or can it be added to a lowered one
@DinkAround2 жыл бұрын
This is the rear sway bar on a lowered Silverado. It's adjustable, you have to role the mounting locations around the axle housing.

how do you like it boss?

It is a great addition. More so when towing and working the truck as I do not often times corner at the speed I would like to corner (slow drivers). I highly recommend replacing the front sway bar bushings and end links at the same time as they are more than likely failed. Thanks for watching!
