Ok I'm confused! So if there is no vacuum then the purge valve is not working? I thought if there is vacuum then it meant the purge valve was stuck open? I changed mine because when I put my finger it would suck it in lol. And then I put the new one and there was no suction.

Tryed this check engine light hasn’t came back on but truck still die going down the road. I will have to pull off wait between 1-5 minutes and it would crank up. Then runs perfectly fine. Next day Let it sit in the yard it does it again a mile down the road. Thinking my fuel pump it getting weak. Any thoughts please I been doing this for 2-3 months.

Looks like after your tool lost Bluetooth range it aborted seal /purge test. While you were tapping on purge solenoid it was venting. Fuel tank psi sensor volts couldn’t rise. Didn’t know if you noticed that in the heat of the battle. Thanks for all the videos and educational content.

Could anybody tell the exact name of this engine? Like the generation and specs, I have it in my Silverado but I can’t find the specifics anywhere. It would be a great help, thanks! I know it’s a 5.3 ls, in a Silverado 1500 but not too much more from that

I would worry that when you ask a fireman to help you get engine cover that he pulls out a rescue axe and makes quick work of it. Ask him to disconnect battery and he pulls out bolt cutters......

Keith just wondering have you ever come across a car that couldn't get fixed no matter what you did. Also do you only work in staten island or the entire 5 boros. I love watching all of your videos they are very educational.
@NewLevelAuto5 жыл бұрын
Staten Island only . And yes I have . I had a 1997 Chevy Lumina car that just could not be fixed . This vehicle would stall at exactly 71mph . Dealership called me in after replacing transmission , pcm twice , crank sensors , cam sensors, ignition switch , ignition module etc. They even swapped ALL of these parts again 2 days before they called me in . The problem with that car HAD to be within the software of the pcm yet there was no resolve from GM for the problem. Instead they convinced the owner to purchase a used car after I failed to repair it as well. This was a one time thing though and I have no idea why I've never heard of another . But I'm more than sure all my testing was completed properly . But only 1 in 19 years now
@beaviskornholio27545 жыл бұрын
@@NewLevelAuto It's not that you did anything wrong you just came across a lemon. I had a 90 gran prix that the dealer couldn't diagnose. I kind of gotta it fixed and then traded it in . This happened after 47k miles. When the dealer can't fix it then you know that you got a real problem. Keith have a good memorial day and regards to your family.
@peterdatechmen55065 жыл бұрын
@@NewLevelAuto Now that would have been a great test case to solve. I purchased a vehicle from a customer who had invested too much with various shops into trying to fix a hidden gremlin. I then use these for my apprentices and techs to learn on when theres a quiet spot in the week. Teaches us all so much without time and customer cost constraints. Start at 101 and move on systematically. The funny side is you probably never find another behaving the same!

The plastic hose leading up to it deteriorates on high miles. Once you touch it, you're replacing it.

if u would of remove the valve nd applied vacuum with the pump would it hold vacuum or not

You would have to remove the valve and adapt some type of fitting to the vacuum inlet side . But yes it would hold vacuum. It would just not open
