This version is even better than the one on the album! And it's so great to see that Daniel's got his voice back! It slipped there for a while, but he sounds better than ever now! It just makes me melt!

Still loving this in 2020 💖 I think this is the greatest version of the greatest view. We get to hear Daniel’s real voice which just kept getting better and better as the years went on. Will always be a lifelong fan of silverchair the band and Daniel Johns the solo artist 💖

This is a band that is awesome on record, and fucking amazing live. You dont run into that often, so awesome to have seen them before they took the hiatus. All of their albums are the most amazing albums each time I was able to hear the new material and drift off a bit. Was very sad when the decided to split, hopes are they reunite one day for us to have a new album to reflect on again. Their first EP I had was the light bulb on the cover and I could not stop listening to it, I believe it had four songs on it and it changed my journey into music.

Bloody genius lyrics... "mistakes don't mean a thing, if you don't regret them" - forgive yourself and others! "so pack your tac tic toes for the winter" - don't be afraid of nonsense and hardship! "chain a waterfall to burned and withered skin" - allow beauty and ugliness to come together in a greater truth! That's what it means to me anyway :)

@lueysixty-six73002 жыл бұрын
Career peak, this album...this song. They were just starting to cure...maturing out of the feisty, yet simplistic riffage of their grungey teens...Silverchair (might aswell just say Daniel), were really starting to temper the angst, and let some really mature ideas breath. Tuna in the Brine is my absolute pinnacle "chair song...but this whole album is golden. And this song is really beautiful, thoroughly original.. fascinating, both conceptually and musically..and I'm just sad that this spelled their end, and not their leg up into super group status, with the worldwide acclaim they were really starting to deserve.

@TheEricaApprich I completely agree. Bands have to grow with the times. They can either clone what other pop artists are doing to stay relevant, or they can actually progress, and Silverchair has progressed. The are true musicians and artists.

posers? they funded their last record THEMSELVES. you dont have to personally like their newer material, but they are not sellouts, or posers by any means. Daniel has brought his own sound to music. i love old silverchair too, but i also liked the new once i gave it a chance. Daniel has continued to impress me though personally and i hope he continues to be true to himself and keeps evolving through music. Whats sad is people expect him to write music like he did at 14. hes a grown man now.

@osza06 I listened to the ARIA Awards version...pretty cool. I prefer the character of his voice in this version but agree with ya! Being able to hit those notes might also depend on where the song was in their set list / how long they'd been touring for etc. Either way, both performances are freakin' amazing! Thanks for pointing out the other video.

@osza0613 жыл бұрын
@atalija Agreed, he sounds good here but watch the early live performances when they first started playing the song live, particularly the aria awards and rove live. he could hit the notes so much easier and cleaner in the chorus, as oppose to this video were he has to yell and falsetto the high notes ("you, view, etc"). compare them and tell me what you think
