I was asked by Ankerworks yesterday to take a survey on an upcoming outdoor camera/security light they are considering selling. If it comes out it will be a game-changer! It looked just like a typical outdoor light for your house. Hidden somewhere in the light is a camera. It looked amazing. I hope they decide to sell them. They would be perfect for someone who wants surveillance cameras but doesn't want anyone to know they have them.
@GeorgeLangabeer2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there are already quite a few of those available from other companies. They are fine, but most of them have very restricted viewing angles. Cool concept though. I’m of the belief cameras should be visible. They are a deterrent & sometimes pay for themselves over & over without you even knowing it (because they deterred a crime).
@Cordoba782 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I'd much rather they know I have it and maybe think twice. If they don't know it's there and go ahead and rob me, the chances of them being caught is still slim to none these days.

You can choose the factory installed SIREN or you can record anything you wish to replace SIREN with your own customized alert whether it be a customer recorded voice phrase or recorded alert you like from the computer or yourself. Mine are selected police chase siren sounds from the computer... Since I've been turned on to this brand, I have added 3 more in which I found my last installed cameras a year ago were discontinued and I had no choice but to buy the Argus Pro 3 and I couldn't be happier that the change took place. I am worried that Reolink is turning into a Radio Shack style situation in which they make changes so much that they self destruct like Radio Shack did. At first I was disappointed that I couldn't find my old cameras anymore and was forced to switch, but luckily it was good, but, I was able to remove the battery on the last most recent model. If the battery goes bad in the Argus Pro 3, you must buy another complete camera again. Don't mess up a good thing! OH, and I miss that wide view from the last discontinued model and yes, I noticed it easily. Overall, it's REOLINK wireless for me. Great Review!

Awesome review! I’ve watched several and this seems to be the most put together one. My only concern is how sensitive is the motion detection? I’ve seen a few reviews saying it’s delayed and misses catching the motion until several seconds after. Like your video with the car and only seeing the back end of it when it was clearly in frame seconds before. Again, awesome review!
@GeorgeLangabeer Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful! I had pretty good luck with the motion settings in general, but I did miss some events. But that’s the case with any motion based Wi-Fi camera (unfortunately). For more control over motion events & better analytics, you really need a wired NVR system. That’s always going to be the most reliable.

Will it damage these cameras if you leave it connected to a charger

It won’t damage the camera, but if you’re talking about using them outside, you should be careful of the charger if it’s not waterproof.

I'd love to see a side by side comparison of the Alibi & Reolink NVR system & cams. Guessing the Alibi would win but it would be nice to see. Thing is I just bought a Reolink NVR wired system, I think it would serve me well. I might've considered Alibi if I had known it existed.
@GeorgeLangabeer Жыл бұрын
There is no comparison. Reolink is a step (or two) below Alibi. Alibi beats Reolink in every category.
@Dusty_Bottoms_ Жыл бұрын
Quite literally "no comparison" , the Alibi brand isn't included in any comparison video anywhere I can find. Why is there so little information about the Alibi? Don't they want to sell their products? If they're hands down better in every category why no comparison.
@GeorgeLangabeer Жыл бұрын
As I’ve explained in every video talking about Alibi, it is a dealer-only brand. It is not a brand available to the general public. Normally, you’d research “security cameras” in your area, you’d find a dealer locally & that dealer would tell you everything you want to know about Alibi. Me being a dealer with a KZbin Channel, is unique for them. It’s changed the routine a bit.
@Dusty_Bottoms_ Жыл бұрын
@@GeorgeLangabeer Thanks for taking ther time to respond. As a consumer who doesn't live in your area, I was completely in the dark about the Alibi brand. I would have like to consider all options but it wasn't an option to me because so little information is out there.

I'd really like to know if this camera is a good fit for my application. I have an overland mini camper. It does have a local area network and WiFi; however, 90 percent of the time it's just that: a local area network with no internet. Sometimes there is internet, but not often. I need a camera to detect intruders, record them, etc., but it must be able to continue working even without internet. What do you think? Any recommendations???
@GeorgeLangabeer Жыл бұрын
This camera will not work in that scenario. You’d have to do a wired DVR/NVR system or something like a trail camera.

I can't afford a professionally installed system like alibi or else I would go that route. So what is the best non-professional install camera with the best night vision? I need to see 25 ft and I have some ambient light to help the camera.
@GeorgeLangabeer Жыл бұрын
With wired systems you really get what you pay for. I tell people all the time, you wouldn’t buy cheap windows or siding, why would you buy cheap cameras…so I really don’t have “non-professional” system I can put my stamp on. They all suffer too much in quality in some way (most times it’s the night vision that suffers). Wish I had a better answer for you.
