yes for sure. a semi-widespread trend amongst indie rockers, if only for a short period of time, during this leg of the indie rock trends, circa 2007-2013-ish or thereabouts. But yah Silversun Pickups definitely was able to “crystallize” this sort of sound during that era of indie rock not so very long ago. My college years!
@Vykk_Draygo Жыл бұрын
@@nozrep Certainly not just from that era; it's a theme of shoegaze (or nu gaze, if you prefer) in general. Granted, they aren't always aggressive, but the wall of sound with floaty vocals is pretty common for the genre. Anyhow, even going outside of shoegaze, you have bands like Smashing Pumpkins that have a similar approach.

Time, it's never worth my time Blue shine, bleeds into my eyes I still, sleep on the right side But the white noise Can't leave the scene behind Could I be anything you want me to be If so is it meant to be seen When you see yourself in a crowded room? Do your fingers itch? Are you pistol-whipped? Will you step in line or release the glitch? Can you fall asleep with a panic switch? When you see yourself in a crowded room, Do your fingers itch? Are you pistol whipped? Will you step in line or release the glitch? Do you think she'll sleep with a panic? And I try, to hold on tight tonight. Pink slip, inviting me inside. I want to burn skin and brand what once was mine, But the red views, came ripping the divide. If I go anywhere you want me to go, How will I know you still follow? When you see yourself in a crowded room? Do your fingers itch? Are you pistol-whipped? Will you step in line or release the glitch? Can you fall asleep with a panic switch? When you see yourself in a crowded room, Do your fingers itch? Are you pistol whipped? Will you step in line or release the glitch? Do you think she'll sleep with a panic? I'm waiting and fading and floating away I'm waiting and fading and floating away I'm waiting and fading and floating away I'm waiting and fading and floating away When you see yourself in a crowded room? The early alternative scene was back in the 80's. Alternative rock is a genre of rock music that emerged from the underground music scene of the 1980s and became widely popular in the 1990s. The term "alternative" was coined in the 1980s to describe punk rock-inspired bands on independent record labels that did not fit into the mainstream genres of the time.

So it's August 3rd, 2021. I have had this song stuck in my head after a decade of forgetting this was actually a song. It kept popping up my head over and over again at the weirdest times. I'm in the gym right now and it popped in my head again. So now I couldn't take not knowing anymore so I went and tried looking for it. Oh man the power of technology. I put voice to text on Google and saw my phone gave me an option to try and find songs. But the problem was that I didn't know the lyrics, name of the song or the band, all I knew was the rhythm. Tell me why my phone gave me the option just to hum the song. So I hummed it and BOOM! it showed up as one of the possibilities. I immediately recognized the band and name and put it on here. I got to say, not only did this song give me the pump I needed, it also took 27 year old me back to high school when I was 15 and a fitness and skater freak. After a decade, this song is still fucking iconic. This is why I love KZbin. Memories never die.

As a drummer myself I've always wondered why he sets his crash so high . . .? But drummers are a weird bunch who have their own very particular and specific setups based on many factors (see Josh from Coheed), so I guess I get it. Hell, I must have done 50 laps around my new kit, adjusting things by centimeters, before I was satisfied, haha. All this to say: Yes, Chris rips.
