Decided to take my Honda Silverwing 600 maxi-scooter up Hardknott Pass for fun. It has a CVT "Twist-and-Go" automatic transmission, so see how it performed on the video.

Thirty years in arrow-straight Midwest America and really missing those roads. Thank you so much for posting this!

Beautiful countryside! Have not ridden my Silverwing FSC600 in years. Will have to get it back out on the road one these days. Keep the shiny side up and watch out for those dang cages! 😀

Love watching your videos. Lovely scenery and great camera work. As it happens I also have an ST1300 and a Silverwing. Looks like the Swing was struggling a bit in this one :-)

I have done the NC500 3 times 2 up on my 2001 silverwing once stopping off in the Orkneys. I have a few other bikes, 3 models of CBR100F a Blackbird and a VFR800 anniversary but the Silverwing is used the most. I love the little bike/scooter. Give one a try when you can.

Wow, I looked up the fort on google maps and it's a big complex! I have that same type of windshield on my Piaggio MP3. :)

Great video FPM! I was impressed by the capabilities of the Silverwing. The chap in the car was a bit of a sour puss though. He needs to lighten up a bit!

That road reminds me of Connemara over here.

No reverse gear but it does have a handbrake

Just curious about that blue bar between your handlebars. Is that to keep from bending?
@FlyingPanMan4 жыл бұрын
Just a handlebar brace.

I was wondering what are those blue bars beetwen steering bars? I have saw already in other video. I knwo sport bikes have something same. Is it against shimmy? Steering wobble? Cheers

It's just a clamp on handlebar brace. I was experimenting with it to see if it would reduce shocks being transmitted to the hands. Can't say it made much difference to the Silver Wing, so I'll probably remove it at some stage.

Keep up the upload's what camera do you use?
@FlyingPanMan6 жыл бұрын
I use a Sony AS200 mounted on the side of my helmet connected to a power bank in my pocket and a microphone in my helmet. That gives me around 8 hours of filming.

Nice, my set up just a camera gets me maybe 1 hour recording at a push, but then again i dont use it much seeing as no one to ride with around me

You could have turned around as you're closer to the entrance. Sarcasm after being shown courtesy is rude.
@FlyingPanMan2 жыл бұрын
Turning two long bikes around in the space available was not feasible. The driver was not at all courteous, it was far easier for him to reverse than for us to get off and start pushing - backwards!
