what are rollers and sliders ?
@coyote311
@coyote311 10 ай бұрын
@@joecamel6835 Scooters have a CVT transmission and on the front pully connected to the engine (not the clutch), there are small weights inside. It comes standard with rollers but now with the invention of sliders they give it more torque on take off and more stability during a fast acceleration. Whenever you change belts you always need to check the rollers / sliders for debris and signs of wear and replace / clean when needed or bad things happen very quickly to your transmission.

I have a 2003 Honda silverwing 600 and it's a comfortable bike to ride in city or back roads. If you get above 70-75 mph it seems like it's getting wound up. It still gets at least 50 mpg in any riding. It looks just like the one on this video, but it has nicer wind screen.

I had one of these. It was fast. At 85mph, I had a quarter turn left on the throttle. I avoided the Suzuki 650 Burgman. The Suzuki Burgman had a manual mode for their cvt. The 650 Burgman has a history of cvt problems. I never checked the fuel mileage. I rode it on interstates, 2 lane roads, just about anywhere. Negatives: price of batteries ( $140), tires ($350 / 2), oil changes needed valve adjustment check ). Generally, this is not a do it yourself maintenance friendly machine. 149xx miles. Sold it for a 1200 Sportster.( battery $100, tires $250, oil changes do it at home, no valve adjustment)

Best profit bike. I flip atleast one a month. Easy to find or haggle for 500, take the fairings off, remove some doodads, swell those for parts,. Easy hundred or two depending the buyer and condition of those parts, new exhaust to give er a deeper growl, resell to the cruiser market, and most of the problems are cheap as hell to fix because of so many people buying them cheap and not having the time/know how/financials to fix it
@yungednoliasquad

most honda scooters are easy to flip, but to be fair, scooters arent really that hard to sell to begin with just recently bought a 2009 silver wing, and if this one wanted to could sell for 3500 pretty quick if selling it was what was in the planner, got it for 2900, if you register it though before you flip it you arent going to make much though, so do you dead flip, and give the next owner the transfer papers, or are you a dealer, that does all that in house when selling them seeing as it seems you sell alot you either have to be a dealer or you are you are selling illegally lol so theres that..

@@okinawanah3463 its like two pcx scooters, so its cant be too hard to get back up if you can lift at least 120, because dont know how much this one can lift but on a 280 pound bike this one can lift it back to its feet or wheels if you may pretty easily lol but if you are an older chap, and you are a shorter person and you dont know how to properly lift a bike up, youll have a bad go of it even if you are really strong lol be cause of how the weight on a bike is distributed, you dont actually need alot of upper body strength to pick them up if you lay it down, you need core and leg strength, and in some places they wont even give you your license if you cant properly lift the bike...

@@yungednoliasquad it’s all in the feet and back if you can use the leg press machine at the gym and do deadlifts that’s about all there is to it but dropping a dirtbike off road is way more harder to pickup and it’s barely 300 lbs because the terrain you drop it in would be a steep hill with soft, muddy terrain that breaks under you so you can’t even get any leverage.

Silverwing is a million times better than the Suicide Suzuki Burgman Low desirability and low sexiness of the Silverwing makes it easy to pickup $1500 Silverwings as spare bikes for parts The crappy part of the Silverwing is the stock suspension and bad brakes but maintenance including the CVT belt, sliders and clutch pads makes it a literally 1 hour job Mine has 24k miles on it and in California we drive an average 85 MPH and the Silverwing is good even at 100 MPH when I get around to the valve adjustment, timing/cam chain replacement, I’ll update this comment to let everyone know if it was easy to do I got a Silverwing in a trade with zero research and the only thing that failed me were crappy old dry rot tires from sitting in the sun all day and a bad old battery I average 49 MPG consistently with aggressive everyday commuting and lane splitting. The Doctor Pulley Sliders make a significant difference in city riding with traffic lights

I own a 2008 Burgman 650 and while the CVT can break on its own the crux of the problem happens to be a pulley centering bolt which can be bought for about seven dollars the pin/bolt is really easy to get to and takes about two minutes to replace The pin centering bolt failing has been shown to be the main reason Burgman CVT‘s fail Change the all transmission and drive fluids on a regular basis and you should easily get 50,000 miles out of it If the motor is ticking, maybe get the valves adjusted The Burgman motor is also known as a Half-a-Busa I changed mine at 25,000 miles and it is a good thing that I did because it had a significant amount of wear on it From what I understand if you change out that pulley bolt you should be able to get 80,000 miles out of the CVT You might have to change out the servo or actuator for the CVT, which is really nothing more than a small electric motor. Maybe a two hour job with only a minimal amount of hand tools I just bought a 2009 Silver Wing with 12,000 miles on it for $3500 from a dealer. Wife wants to try out riding solo and the Burgman sits a little too high for her We are pretty excited

Good video. Well except for comparing its gas mileage to a 150, a 200, and 250 and saying it's gas mileage is bad . I mean... those bikes can't even ride the hwy safely. @@motardsquid I have a 2006. I really like it. The guy I bought it from was very meticulous with it. It's got 109,000 on it now. I actually took it to the Easter family reunion earlier today and put another 300 miles on it. The Burgman that I had I got from an old man who used to drive it to see his daughter once a month in Arizona from here in Dallas Texas. He had had the CVT modified and gave it more torque and acceleration. His family was not happy about him driving across country once a month at his age and they requested that he sell it so he did. 120,000 mi on it when I bought it. Still ran like new. It performed a lot better than I was expecting. My cousin does a lot of cross-country. And I got the itch to get a Gold Wing. I should have kept the other bike too. Don't get me wrong the Gold Wing is a dream to take cross-country. But the Bergman is very comfortable. And a lot lighter for whenever you're just going to the grocery store and back. My little French bulldog loves riding on the Gold Wing with the big back seat. I thought about getting another scooter so I would have a second bike for someone to ride. But I don't guess I really need it.
