Missing some things... First, all of Dire Maul is ONE instance. You can't get from one to the others much inside, but it's all a single instance for lockout purposes. This is a GOOD thing if you say, want to farm something in East then go kill some trash in North as a mage. DONT reset, just run up and in and it's still 1 instance for lockout purposes. He didn't specify, but to get the key you need to talk to the little imp just inside the beginning of East (look left) and follow him thru the scripted path and fights. That ends with you getting the Dire Maul key. 1. Epic 2h Axe, Treants Bane is a rare drop in the tribute chest. It's neat but not superb. 2. To get past the last guard, you need to make sure you have materials for the Ogre suit turn in with you. 8 rugged leather, 4 bolts of rune cloth, 2 rune thread and the Ogre tanin. Tannin is in a small chest on the way up the ramps as you progress thru DM N. Like mentioned, get your suit first if you get the key to free the goblin. He runs off after you free him. 2a. If doing tribute, you NEED someone to bust open a door. Either a rogue to pick it, seaforium charge to pop it, whatever. The key is from a guard you don't kill in a full trib run. 3. Mage water quest in North 4. Small quest area door in North, that is also part of the normal West run. You can get there alone with the key on any class. This is where you turn in the trinket quests, and I think the mage water quest (not sure on that) 5. The Warlock epic mount quest ends in DM West. unsure if this comes out in P 2 or not. 6. There's a really nice +dagger skill belt, Muggers Belt, off Kromcrush in a non-tribute run.

I feel like distracting dagger from DM west is also very noteworthy, as it also gets you past the weapon skill softcap. Very interesting for DW tanks. (though Mugger's is obviously on a more convenient itemslot)

Why? Pvp is the only obstacle tbh. The run back from the graveyard really is not bad on your mount, 60 or 100%. Or you can get up and stretch for 5 minutes while logged out and your character is going to be at the entrance. Or you can get the last boss of DME to 50% health and he will open the path to the exit. You don't even have to kill him, there's a reset spot right next to the caves opening. Best of luck!

All talking about making a mage and farm dm. I always had more gold pr/h as a priest farming dm with shadow/holy spec and being herb/miner. You herb the herbs, aoe kill the flowers for loot, then go to last boss and mine the rich thorium vein and also ofc sell the loot from the 2-3 bosses u need to kill to get there. =)
