the number of times I've had to disassemble aluminum extrusion because of 1 too few or too many (or forgetting them entirely) T-nuts in a channel... and now... because my 72 year old father wants to get into sim-racing... I find out that they can be passed through the bloody side... thank you, even if I'm slapping myself lol

You got me hyped for the upgrade, I'm currently usinng my Simucube 2 Pro with NLR 2.0 wheel strand due to space restrains, but I'm finally moving to a bigger room soon, and this will be my first upgrade. Good to know rigidity is not the only perk, but also getting the true details and fidelity of my wheel base. Cheers!

Had this version with the new adjustable pedal tray for nearly 2 months now. Combined with the Simucube 2 pro I have to say it works brilliantly in all aspects. Also got the single integrated monitor mounted to the rig...no movement at all. Once again very thorough review...I used your previous review of this cockpit to help me build mine! Great job Barry!!

Thanks Barry you got me through my P1X build perfectly! Lots of extra bolts to mount things later. I was a bit worried about the size but it is a lot smaller than I thought. If you want a sensible rig platform to start with look no further. Not sure if anything comes close. Rock solid! Now just waiting for my motors to come in to build actuators.

I can recommend adding the "Sim-Lab Sim Floor" as it adds some more rigidity and I find it easier to get out for some reason as well. I just added one to my P1 as well because the Podium DD2 it'd powersupply brick has an fan in it. So I added the plate to prevent dust and dirt get in the power brick and moved cables and powerbricks as much as possible out of view. Mind I also bought a Brenenstuhl 19" rack mount powerstrip, which I then bolted onto the aluminium. Together with a quality USB3 hub. So I only have 3 cables coming from the rig... 1 power, 1 USB and 1 VR headset cable.

@@DavidGarcia-oi5nt I'm loving it! I've really only had one minor problem and that's the caster wheels that Sim Lab sold. The metal to set/unset the brake is a cheap aluminum and the brake levers bent to the point of not working any more. The casters still role but the brakes don't work. Outside of that small issue, the rig has been awesome. Easy to mount anything on and no flex with my DD1 and V3 Brake pedals. It's a lot of setup work to get it running but after it's all mounted up it's fantastic.

Wish I had seen this before I started my first rig. Found the exact same issue with the wheel mounting. Bolts too short and then if adjusting can come out off the nutt. Have to remove integrated monitor stand now to retry and also leads to scratching of the profile. So great informative video. In general think it would be handy to have extra nutts and wing bolts, probably they should provide extras at purchase. These things aren't cheap.

Again a very good review! The price point of that rig is INSANE! If you order the parts (replacing that frontal bracket with 80/20 parts) from any industrial supplier you‘ll pay about 350$. And you’ll have them at your home within a week. Naturally they have to make a profit, but anything more than 500$ is outrageous. The margin Sim Lab takes on all the stuff they offer is just shameless.

curious why they have used the flat plate for the wheel uprights, any reason for this over tradition brackets?

Great review. I noticed your flightsim rudder pedals hanging on the wall and had a question... I'm interested in a chassis that could be relatively easily switched over from sim-racing to flightsim. What are your thoughts on this chassis system's suitability for this idea?

Can I mount the VRS DD motor directly to the P1-X front mount for simucube?

Lol I never though you could put the tnuts directly in the channel. I always put them in from the ends.

Can this be attached for example to old GT1 Evo it is 560mm not 600mm so i guess it can be mounted outside the bars and not inside, only would need 10mm extra what maybe the bolt atach can be adjusted, thx

I just thought of something: wouldn't it be cool if there was a rotating tray with (say) 3 sets of screw holes in a Dorito pattern, for attaching 3 different gear shifters and rotating the tray to choose the shifter you want every single time? I mean, cars have different sorts of transmissions (manuals, automatics, sequentials), so there could be 3 different gear shifters (a manual one, an automatic one and a sequential one) attached to one rotating tray. The tray could be rotating and when the desired gear shifter is selected, it could selectively be locked/unlocked to/from the right longitudinal members by a special key switch working a mechanism preventing it from doing unwanted rotation - this is for stability reasons! Woudn't this enhance immersion?

Is there a place to buy this rig in the US? Or do they have to ship from overseas? Great review!!!

I noticed on Sim Lab's photo of the P1-X that they are using what looks like a seat slider under their pedal set. That seems like a really cool idea for very quick and easy adjustment of the pedal distance. But would that still be stable enough?

Just wondering if you are going to do a review on the new monitor mounts sim labs have. With the new rig i have coming i have the single screen mount that attaches to the rig. For my asus 49inch monitor. But would be good to get your thoughts on the single and triple mounts.
