Well I am South African, born here, with parents also having been born here, but my grands were born in Botswana, with my relations all over Botswana, stretching from Lobatse, Mogoditshane, Gaborone and Francistown. The Botswana people and those in south Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, are the same people. We have a lot in common. ❤❤

You fail to mention that Mafikeng was in South Africa at the time. The reason why they did that was to Mai tain power over Botswana during British rule. The plan was to combine the colonies into one country.

@@FictionHubZAthanks god we didn’t combine 🙏
@FictionHubZA5 ай бұрын
@@Grind03 To be honest, South Africa wouldn't benefit from absorbing its neighbors. Pretoria alone has an economy larger than Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, eSwatini, and Zimbabwe combined. Pretoria is not even in the top 5 largest South African cities. The gap in wealth is too big. This country is richer than all the other countries in the region of SADC combined.

Thank you very much. My favourite, beautiful girl, sharing wonderful information about my favorite, beautiful country. ❤ Is it possible for me in Botswana as a Black South African to buy customary land under a chief, if there is even such?
@lecee9 ай бұрын
@Dlaba I'm not 100% sure if that is possible, this is what I found out though "Land ownership and regulations can vary by country and even within different regions of a country. In Botswana, customary land is often held by tribal authorities or chiefs, and the process of acquiring such land may be subject to specific customary laws and practices. It's important to note that legal and regulatory frameworks can change. I recommend checking with local authorities, such as the Land Boards or relevant government offices in Botswana, to get the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the acquisition of customary land. Additionally, consider consulting with legal professionals or experts who specialize in land matters in Botswana. They can provide you with specific guidance based on the current legal landscape and help you navigate the process of acquiring land under customary tenure. Please be aware that any changes in regulations or local policies that may have occurred after January 2022 won't be reflected in this response, so it's crucial to verify the information from authoritative and current sources."

What would you say is the visible effect of African immigrants in Botswana?

I mean I think it is similar to the visible effect in South Africa except I notice African immigrants mostly in specific kinds of jobs i.e waiters and / or waitresses, barbers, hairdressers, etc…. I am not so well travelled within the country yet however I don’t see the criminal element that in some parts of South Africa is speculated to appear as a direct result of terrible border control.
