From a fellow Brit, who cried when he was sworn in as a citizen of this great country twenty years ago, I am proud beyond words for this courageous stand and for the words from a true patriot. We immigrants, who have lived in other countries and know the difference because we have lived it, are so grateful to be here and understand maybe better than many US born citizens, how precious and vulnerable our constitution and freedom is today. This country is the greatest country in the history of human existence and needs to be protected from the attacks we see today, trying to dismantle it into something our founding fathers would not recognise. Well done Mr. Campbell! My hat is off to you, mate. I salute you and I would love to buy you a pint!

Sad to say, and I'm a born American, is that the general American public has been dumbed down to such a degree, they not only don't know their own history, but don't know world history, as well. It seems to me, and I've known many, people that have been foreign born, and lived under tyranny, then immigrated, here, are more aware of our Constitution than the American people. We've had communist minded, traitors to America, that have infiltrated into political positions of power for decades in this country. It breaks my heart to write this, but we are NOT the courageous people that our Founding Fathers were where they were willing to give up their lives and all that they owned for freedom. We've really turned into a nation of cowards afraid to speak up against tyrannical bullies.
@isaiahwelch80663 жыл бұрын
@David Borst-Smith: Sir, I could not be happier to have you here as a fellow American, and as a fellow patriot! I will say that while I am a native-born American, I am a military veteran -- and because I know how much weight there is to swearing an oath, I have not only sworn an oath to the Constitution (which never expires, until my dying breath), but I have taken it upon myself to know what that document says. I have also read the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights. I know what the "supreme Law of the Land" is, in our country. I am also a student of history, and I always try and learn the lessons of history. I try and know these things, so that the values we hold are not lost. And I daresay, sir, that my country needs more men, more people, like you and Mr. Campbell. My own countrymen have forgotten what we fought our Revolution for: The unalienable right of self-determination, which is, to paraphrase what our Founders believed, a timeless and moral principle. I also will say, sir, that as long as men and women like you or I do not give up against these cowards, these seditious traitors, then all hope is not lost. Reading your words, and hearing Mr. Campbell's words, reminds me of a quote by one Commodore John Paul Jones, during the War of 1812: "I have not yet begun to fight!" Commodore Jones was outnumbered 3 to 1, in that battle, and he won that fight. I say these things to you, Mr. Borst-Smith, because it is with hope that should things turn south, and we have to do more to overcome what obstacles are placed in front of us, that you, Mr. Campbell, and millions of other patriots would stand true to the founding principles of this great nation. While I hate my government, I wholeheartedly love my country -- and I am glad to have you and Mr. Campbell as fellow Americans, and fellow patriots.

The Bill of Rights is a check against _government_ power, not the power of citizens. A private organization is not so bound unless it violates the Civil Rights Act. @@lufe8773 too bad every other revolution before the American Revolution would replace 1 monarch with another. For example the multiple British and French Revolution. It wasn't until the deceleration of independence. And the drafting of the constitution of the United States . Where For the first time In human history. A free people of a sovereign nation will choose their own form of government one that "We the People" control. That is why the French got Thomas Jefferson to write them their own version of the constitution.. that's why the shot "heard around the world" is described as so. Because that's how revolutionary the American Revolution was. It spread throughout the world people were sick of being ruled. And wanted to govern themselves. @lufe87733 жыл бұрын
@@whereschavo3953 Chavo nice to hear from you. But sorry mate cannot completely agree with you. The English civil war led to a commonwealth in the mid 1600s. They abolished the monarchy and established a Republic of sorts led by Oliver Cromwell. When he died the Monarchy was restored under Charles the second. But and this is a big one, the Genie was out of the bottle and people had a taste of religious freedom and some form of emancipation. So it was just another setback or chapter in the struggle for ordinary people, a full hundred years before the American revolution. Which undoubtedly was a huge step forward. By the way I had a ancestor Major William Broadley who served with Cromwell and later emigrated to America. So the seeds of liberty were sown long before and carried into and onward from America by many people. I guess you are proud of your heritage and rightly so, I just think there is common bond between the countries mentioned. Have a nice day mate.
