Omg....that song from Ashley inspired by her dad touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes.... she had every dad wishing that was their daughter singing about their superhero dad, and I'm sure made her dad feel like a million bucks.

Ashley was hands-down my favourite. It takes a lot to sing a song, but writing your own lyrics that are cohesive, dynamic and well-received, that's even harder. I love too that she also broke conventions and didn't just sing the kind of vapid stuff people expect from teenagers, like a breakup song or a song about a dead pet or whatever. Ashley sang a song about her family, and a song that captured the bittersweet nostalgia of growing up from the eyes of both a daughter and her father. And that doesn't even begin to take into account that the girl got up on-stage and sang it live for an international audience!

WOW I just had to stop the video That Ashley Marina was sooo amazing I don't know what season she was on but I hope she won. Her song that she wrote for her father had me in absolute tears thinking of my own daughter. I spent 20 years looking for my daughter that I knew existed unfortunately her mother ran off and disappeared with her in the early 90's to California and I didn't get to raise her and it kills me, it really eats me up inside, to know I will never get that kind of father daughter love. Absolutely love this little girl

Absolutely! I used to think he was a real curmudgeon, but in this particular venue and type of competition, Simon really sees the potential of the performer and if the song choice is bad for the competitor, he will straighten it out as best he can and the cooperation the contestant will give.
