Migrant workers are in Qatar because the quality of life there is far superior than they'll get anywhere else and they're able to make enough money to sustain families back home. Somewhere along the way, someone has given these football pundits the confidence to believe that we all want to be lectured by them about the world, and that everything they say must be heard by everyone. They have their jobs because they played football, for no other reason. They aren't qualified or educated enough on the subject matter to be broadcasting it to a whole country of people who actually just tuned in to watch football. Owen definitely understands the game, and has done does some good analysis with Leon Osman. Carragher can at least see a formation but I can't say he's amazingly insightful either. I find the majority of punditry pretty poor these days as they all just blame workrate as they don't have to explain it.
