Depersonalization: Feeling like things are dream-like and that the external world, including people and surroundings, looks fake or cartoonish.
Derealization: Certain buildings, neighborhoods, and landscapes trigger feelings of unreality.
Existential dread and anxiety accompanying these sensations.
Obsession with the fear of falling into an episode of psychosis.
Frequent panic attacks.
Hyper fixation on symptoms, which have consumed his daily life.
Fear and fixation on how his reality looks around him.
Anxiety and panic during everyday activities, like going to the store or the mall.
Feeling like he's not living but merely trying to get through each day.
An accidental "fight or flight" response that he can't turn off.
Childhood experiences, including family issues, a lack of emotional safety, and exposure to mental health struggles in others.
Past coping mechanisms involving substance use.
Episodes of deep confusion and panic, especially after a night of partying and substance use.
Intense depersonalization and derealization since a major panic attack at 23 years old.
Occasional periods of relief from anxiety and DPDR.
The challenge of quitting alcohol and substances, leading to increased anxiety.
Working part-time due to fear of exhaustion from managing symptoms.

I hear Jordan talk about "The body keeps the score" If you havent yet looked it you, you can definitly find a free PDF about it online. It has been one of the best books that i have read in my ongoing battle with DPDR. It gave me some hopeful insights into how i should address my trauma, still working thru and in the middle of my healing process (i think) from alot of information that i have taken away from that book.

Visiual changes is very common because when the body goes into fight or flight response, the pulipls dilate, letting in more light. 📚DISCLAIMER: Nothing I say should by email or in any form of communication replace a consultation with a licensed mental health professional and doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
