Always talk to your team….uncomfortable conversations are not the greatest but are necessary at times! Well said once again Simon! 👍

Nothing new, but always worth being reminded of how valuable this is within a team; especially for the leader. Thanks Simon 🙂

Damn! Simon... I saw your video for the first time in KZbin and get to know who you are for the first time - today. I don't usually subscribe much to anything in KZbin but for your channel, I hit that button. Very inspiring talks. It triggers me to reflect the work environment I'm in, the leaders in my corporation and their behavior, style. And how/what to react for a constructive outcome.

Ça c'est très bon! Fresh perspectives. Listening is part of an exchange. And, building trust requires endearing another. By actively listening... encouraging them to "go on," as you suggest. Thank you for kicking off the brain jog and heart stir :)

The more you get comfortable implementing these tools in your everyday life and relationships the more natural and easier they become.✨ I have found it extremely helpful to start these types of conversations out from a place of compassion, empathy and inquisitiveness.✨ In general I begin with letting the other person know that I am coming to them from a place of wanting clarification and trying to understand where they are coming from. I let them know from the start that I'm not here to complain, but more so to explain where I am coming from and to listen where they are at, so that moving forward we can be more on the same page. By allowing yourself to show up from a genuine and authentic place you are providing others with a safe and judgment free space to do the same.💛 If people could find a way to drop the masks, put their egos aside and be willing to talk to each other without fear of retaliation, judgment, apathy and indifference there would be so much less resentment, mind reading and breakdowns in relationships.💛 Great reminder Simon that active listening begins with our willingness to take that first step to get the conversation started. ✨

Maybe for your illustration instead of using a cop killing somebody and blaming the cops supervisors for not teaching them how to communicate properly we should maybe use the illustration like a doctor. A doctor cannot be found guilty of malpractice because his bosses did not teach him how to be a doctor properly. doesn’t make any sense does it. If you’re in a job, you should know how to perform that job. If you can’t it’s your own responsibility. It’s also the fault of the supervisor who should have realized. but this guy did know how to communicate or this team did not know how to communicate with each other when the communication would be tough communication

Yeah, no! Why would you have a conversation about him?? That’s not the roll of anyone but people in their private lives. I like him but this sounds like ESG to me.

drug addiction is not a justification for murder, what you are talking about has been floated in the past by a different name: eugenics. if we culled off everyone with nonviolent but terrible vices then society would quickly collapse as the alchaholics, manipulatiors, drug addicted CEOs, and many, many more dissapear. they all deserve justice, but justice isn't simply punishement, it is punishment in just measure for the wrong they have commited.

The sad thing is that most things that need to be discussed are not work related, so theres no obligation for getting together and talking. In fact, it's considered heresy to even consider the idea of doing it...
