This is eye-opening for me, I SEVERELY underestimated the power of normal maps! The low-poly mesh is simply unbelievable for the kind of result you got.

Really informative. I was just trying to figure out how to model wooden planks easily and this helps a lot with that as well as shows me how to do a ton of other stuff. Thanks a bunch dude!

Excellent video. I'm already working with your Crimson ronin tutorial that i bought not so long ago, and i am already looking forward an advanced rigging/animation course for the model i'm building with your course. Would you consider creating a course based in the techniques yo use for rigging and animating in blender? (like te methods you used with Iwabi) I think you could reuse the crimson ronin for the purpose of such course, and it would be awesome to have you as a teacher again :D

Thanks! :D That is exactly what I'm doing man. I'm recording arigging course based on the Ronin. That will fit beginners and more advanced users. The Ronin is almost rigged, I think I will have it done today or tomorow. I expect to release the rigging course in october and then I will work on the animatrion course. UV and normal map phase was something that pushed me away from a 3D graphic. I like modeling, and retopology but when I think about UV and normals I am done. My nemesis 😬

You mention generating the Curvature and Curvature smooth maps (which you then take into Substance). I cannot quite catch the reference. Can you help further?

Very useful tutorial, but I had to play the video at 1.25 speed to get your normal voice, because at normal speed your voice sounds a bit "distracting". Any particular reason for this?

What do you mean "distracting"? My voice is normal on this video. I just have a pretty low pitched voice ^_^'

@@PierrickPicaut_P2DESIGN There's nothing wrong with the pitch of your voice, but it sounds a bit slomo. It's easier to follow at 1.25 speed, but that's my opinion. No criticism.

@@PierrickPicaut_P2DESIGN don't do that, your voice is perfectly normal. Maybe that guy was having some issue on his computer while he was watching. Or he is just a little bit odd... anyway, he already has his own fix, so don't mess with you audio because of one random person's comment.
