@@jeromepartosa1693 yes, my teachers also expect us to know topics in advance before a test. Isn't that a given for any teacher, not just in University? However, it's unreasonable for teachers to expect students to know a topic that hasn't been properly covered in class

I hate to be that person, but I don't want someone to give you a thumbs down.... at around time 2:50 when you write in orange, you had 5% changed to the decimal .005 instead of .05 you can delete this if you want...but I will still send your links to my students. :-)

Hi! The “T” in the formula stands for time in years. So in the problem, if it was 1 year, you can just plug in “1” into the equation. In our problem, it says 6 months which is .5 years, so I plugged in “.5” into the equation

Everything, after plugging the numbers in, is just order of operations. In the first example for compound interest, we can see that the exponent will be 12, because 12*1=12. Then (0.06/12)=0.005. So, we have that A=1000*(1+0.005)^12. We also know that 1+0.005=1.005. Hence, A=1000*(1.005)^12. At that point, when you put these numbers in your calculator, you would first raise the 1.005 to the 12th power, and then multiply the result by 1000 (Exponents comes before Multiplication).

Do you mean for problem #2 for compound interest? I just plugged it into a calculator! If you need help calculating, there are videos out there about PEMDAS / orders of operation / etc
