The cheapest I could find 93% Ground beef in the USA is $6.62 per pound, 14 OZ is $5.72 Onion - $0.41 Carrot - $0.15 Celery - $0.16 Peas - $0.32 Buying tomato paste in a tube cost 5 times more than buying it in a can so I would use an oz. and freeze the rest at $0.12. Beef cube - $0.14 Worcester sauce - $0.06(Lea & Perrins was 4 times more expense) Potato - $0.10 Butter - $0.15 Cream - $0.30 Which adds up to $7.63/4 or about $1.91 per serving US or 1.46 pounds. Interesting how much cheaper food is in the UK.
