Major throwback to the CFL bulbs. 12 years ago I started with 20ish CFL bulbs and over those years that turned into a 2 room perpetual grow house completely ran by myself. Sold that house at the beginning of this year and I’m back in tents in the basement and couldn’t be happier😊

Back in early '17 I diy my whole grow box. She ran on a xbox360 power supply with white LEDs on top and blurple led light strip for my side lighting. Looked like a sunset in there and grew some bomb buds. I aestheticly enjoyed the scene

Corner supplemental lighting in a tent is where to start. Most lights don't get much PAR in the corners compared to anywhere else on the canopy. I think AC Infinity has a kit with 4 individual LED bars for supplemental lighting, and putting them in the corners so they're mostly above the canopy, seems like the best "bang for your bucks" with these. I know my tent corners could use the extra light to even out the PAR of the canopy. Might have to try em out..?! They're also available in UV, and maybe more than one white spectrum..?! Saw them on Amazon. Interesting design!👍💯✌️

Dli makes a difference for sure. You can run the devils light cycle if you have enough dli and co2 to get that much growing degree time to your plants. Plants can only take so much dli before they need a 3 hour break. Most aren't hitting that 1300+ ppfd with co2 and proper vapor pressure. I move lights about an inch every day or 2 in flower. Gas appliances add more co2 than people think. I have measurements marked out. To help out. Yes I think I do get better growth on autos running 20/4. Keeping a grow log has helped.

My 1st grow was a micro grow, I purchased a kit from Supergreenlab and did well. They are Dimmable boards and comes with a controller. My next grow I am going to put them on the sides just to see.

I've got one decent full spectrum light and then I use another good LED as tops lights and then small LED 12x12 red/blue on top but in a pyramid or house roof kinda angles. So there's at least more penetration. Also I could never get seeds and seedlings to grow good until I used CFLs! I have more of the smaller LEDs 5 total so two were for veg and seeds but I have those higher above CFLs on the seeds. It works great! All my seedlings are doing great now.

Get two small leds and put them on opposite sides of the grow. Use timers so one kicks on 30 minutes before your overhead lights and other kicks on for just before lights out for another 30 minutes. When you do this you create an artificial sun rise/set. After a short amount of time you will see your plants turn one way toward the light in the morning and the other way toward the sunset. The daily twisting back and forth will bulk up the plant cell walls as much as having a fan blowing on them

I have tge grand master vulcan for my 5/5 and the grand master 720 for my 4/4. In my first tent 2/4 I still have the MH sp3000. After buying GM vulcan it increased my yields, but more importantly the density of the buds is off the hook. The expense was well worth it.

You can get away with higher temps for the first couple weeks as long as you’re humidity is high enough. As you go further into flowering and you drop humidity to avoid mold and mildew you have to drop your temp to avoid foxtails and burnt tips. I like to start in the 90’s and end in 60’s to simulate a natural seasonal change. The colder you get in the end the better your color expression will be if you’re looking for more purple.

Im hitting 84 all year long in the day 70-75 at night in a tent. But with nature 60-65% rn....with these temps air flow is important. But these temps really push out some aggressive growth. And if you overwater or have any stunt in growth for any reason along the way i will boost up the rh and temps even higher 95*/75rh with stronger wind and it will perk the ladies up. Ill post a video about it on my little channel.

I am watching from Bakersfield CA, but not toking lol. I'm new at growing, and I think I'm better at not over watering like I used to. However, I went crazy on the lighting recently, and it started burning the higher leafs. But like 420 says, we're going to f*** up, and that's normal. Lesson learned, so guys, don't go crazy on your lighting, but if you do add extra lights, keep am eye on them.

Heat can be an issue to deal with but I definitely see bigger yields using a 100W dimmable LED on the short sides of my 2x4. I even used it in a 2x3 before but heat was a detriment there, even with the lights dimmed down. Got an SF se4500 LED with a driver that can be outside the tent and this helps enormously to keep the heat down. Think of the light pattern and where it declines the most and you can see that a boost from the short sides is going to help even out the light coverage! The 100W dimmable LEDs are inexpensive but you cannot remove the drivers and their heat from inside the tent, so it takes some experimentation to get it dialed in. IMHO Yes, it is worth it.

2x 12-18 inch fluorescent tube lights under the bottom of each plants works well and doesnt hurt your eyes from lighys being pointed up.

I like to surround my whole space floor and side with medium LEDs but I'M not limited by space no more scrag at lower branches LOVE the SHOW from 35 year grower from UK I was one of the first heads to grow in UK they didn't even have grow lights back in 1987 I bred a strain you might know called KRISS KROSS Haze crossed with Cali Orange so if anybody says CHEESE is only UK cultivar-strain I was ahead by a couple of years Peace out🙏☝

I got a question for you I got the Mars Hydro too I can't remember exactly what they are but one's little bit longer the other ones kind of shaped like a square or 2000 Watt I don't have a ton of space where I do it but enough depending on how big they get. I don't seem to be able to run my light anymore than 50 to 60% during bed and Bloom I probably never go over 65 and sometimes it gets under that 24 inch Mark between the light and the flower just because I'm running out of room and turning them up doesn't help sometimes it's stresses them out or makes them foxtail. Are you dimming yours on your growing?

I’m doing a run w using only homemade liquid fertilizer and banana/molasses teas so I made a homemade liquid fertilizer using random flowers and plants around our land and when I was transplanting I will be honest I destroyed like 30% of the roots and it was straight up dying for 2 weeks but still hanging on, I gave it the liquid fertilizer at a 1:3 ratio w a water bottle worth of water for a two weeks watering twice a week and it made an amazing bounce back only downside is bc of the stunt in growth it’s only about 3 inches tall with 4 nodes stacked hella close🤣 so I cut off essentially topping the first two nodes on the sides and focusing the growth on the top two and the branches starting from the corners of where the branches were at

My ac infinity control 69 does it. You can tell it how long it takes to get to full strength. I have a red light that comes on about 2 minutes before and stays on about 15 minutes to simulate the red sunrise. At the end of the light cycle it repeats I n reverse to simulate sun set

I tried side lighting once, with a white widow run, 3 with and 3 without, and for me it made no difference. Now granted I did not try with different strains nor did I experiment with different intensity etc so I am not saying it dont work,,,but for me, the first trial was enough for me to not try again up until this point. My first grow temps were not a thing. Temps were in the 90s in the tent. I got huge buds on sour diesel white widow aphrodite and amnesia lemon haze. Side lighting isn't exactly 'bro science' but I feel like it hits the barrier of diminishing returns. You're not going to get 100W of energy into the plant from the bottom & sides, because the bottoms of the leaves are incapable of photosynthesis. Whatever leaves bend down enough for the lights to hit the tops, there will be SOME benefit, IF they are already in the shade or blocked by a stem or something. Otherwise, you're not going to see any benefit from side lighting VS top lighting, IF you Train & Defoliate PROPERLY
