Simple how-to: clear Fiat Punto airbag light

Easy DIY how to: clearing the airbag warning light on a Fiat Punto Mk2 (1999-2006).
You will need:
* PC based laptop
* KKL / VAG cable with either RED adaptor for airbag module, OR a switchable version as shown - Amazon US: amzn.to/2aoMULx | UK: amzn.to/2bPW1WV
The Punto has a common fault with its airbag light coming on when relevant cables are knocked behind the glovebox or possibly under the front passenger seat. Using the method shown you can clear the light and determine if the error comes back. If the light is on and you don't know why, the problem should be investigated and fixed properly. (One possible cause of constant errors is a faulty wiring harness to the airbag safety switch on the passenger side, for which Fiat have a replacement upgrade available.)

Thank you for the video! I bought the same cable however the software couldn't connect to the ECU using the airbag setting on the cable. I had to switch to ABS and this way it connected to the airbag module.

hi mate do you know how to get rid of bulb warning light? all my lights are working but the warning light is still on. I own a Cvt as well mine is X reg with 105k miles still drives good.

would the passenger switch also trigger the passenger airbag light? I have both on and don't feel like going to my local fiat dealer to pay more than the cars worth to fix it

i am having a problem...the problem is when i'm draving and whenever i push the brake it starts to beep as it i was going reverse and the R is coming up on dash...so i know how to fix it temporeraly but it keeps coming back after a month.i fix this problem in the back lamp where the reverse light is...i just pull out the conector and clean it and put some contact spray and then it's all ok.for about a month or two...but it keeps coming back.so sorry for my english

Are they (air bags) active when this error lights is on...and if we just delete error did we fixed problem or still exist and air bags are inactive...?!

J'avais le voyant airbag qui était tout le temps allumé, passage à la valise obd : pas d'alimentation. J'ai acheté sur eBay le contrôleur d'airbag pour 50€ d'occasion. Aussitôt remplace : plus d'erreur le voyant est éteint. Ma voiture : fiat punto 2 de 2001 1.2 16v 80cv modèle 188. Prenez la même référence surtout
