It wouldn't be for the money, it would be for the love & support for the hobby, you guys could provide more specialist equipment for professional aquascapes, the kind of stuff you won't find in pets at home lol
@Lazy_Fish_Keeper3 жыл бұрын
@@GeorgeFarmerStudios I have worked aquarium retail. 100% support and understand. There's a new concept starting, of co-operative types that are more of a learning / display center and people pay a monthly fee to be a member. Then group orders can save money, and it makes it easier to order from other countries and get a single order through customs. You and MD are looked up to by many people, globally.... Like thousands of thousands 😊 I would pay for a fish room tour and schedule my next visit around tour availability. It's just a thought. Of course, many of us get into the hobby as self-care from having to people so much, so you guys might not even want to do tours, lol.

Like these vids and to see thought process behind it. Started a no-tech nano like this one (30cm) and went with medium intensity light for 6 hours a day for first 4 weeks. Only a bit of expected brown algae on the anubias so far. Went heavy with easy-low-tech plants too (inc floating). Will prob wait 6-8 weeks for sticking shrimp in. Also went with bacteria boost for first 3 weeks and 50% water change once a week.

While watching your video I was removing seeds of Anthurium scandens from the berries. What would happen if all 40 or so of the seeds were sowed on that "emergent" branch in your tank? Would they germinate? If so, they wouldn't be equally suited to those specific conditions, given that each seedling has somewhat different preferences/tolerances. Nature is all about hedging her bets. She wants to maximize the chances that life will establish somewhere, anywhere. It seemed like you were guessing that your friend might need more light for the tank. Alternatively, in theory it would have been possible for you to hedge your plant selection bets in terms of light requirements. I'm sure this happened to some extent anyways given that the plants that you included don't all have the same exact light requirements. A couple years before covid, my friend who teaches 5th grade and her students had been turning their school in the Los Angeles area into a botanical garden. During covid they couldn't go to the school to water the plants. Recently, around a year later, they returned to school and found that quite a few plants had survived, naturally they were mostly the succulents.
