My comments posted umteen years ago have been removed for some odd reason. Here it is updated: Exceptional performance. Feels like I am there - for nine minutes....nine minutes! Jim and his band mates adopting Jonathan Richman's classic tune and channeling Jim Morrison and the Doors.

The final minutes are great and that bass-line reminds me of The Stranglers!

@nevets4ever The whole live set list to this gig is bizarre. Unreleased songs, songs that the audience would never have heard (Capital City for example). Strange for a band to choose such songs, usually they promote their latest album!

Not that strange, for the Minds, of that time, though, as they would release five albums (if you count Sons and Sisters separately, as many people do) within the space of two and a bit years , during 79-81, and then they went on to write much of NGD towards the end of 81. So, it was more like writing, recording , releasing & gigging six albums in three years. That's massive output.

Yeah it was a strange but brilliant transition one minute they sound like The Doors then they wanted to be Kraftwerk.

Actually the Song was written by Jonathan Richman!!!
@ottoacid18007 жыл бұрын
It's a different song. They just both share the Picasso asshole rhyme.
@mrcodhead674 жыл бұрын
Your description, then, dates the song to have been written in either late-76 or early-77.
@toptonychick4 жыл бұрын
The first demo was recoded February 1977. So its safe to say it dates back to 1976.
