That is a great idea. I have implemented in our house and top is covered for normal usage. With this my bore well is just 150 feet deep !

Here the question, houses are usually built with Concrete and bricks. How far away should the recharge well away from building foundations. What affect can these recharge well have on building foundation, can it weaken it, minimum distance, precaution if required as eventually I believe that soil around the building foundation would become saturated before water in high rain seeps completely into the lower ground. Can it sink the building as online forums and articles also talks about diverting the water away from building foundations. Kindly shed some light on this.

Good question sir . Well it depend on your water level and socking capacity of soil . The rings have small holes in side to let the soil sock water . If you afraid to get sunk . You can choose rings without hole only down soil can sock the water . 2 if u want to recharge down water . You can make your recharge pit near any old well or you can make an borewell it cast around 30 to 40 thousand. But if also can give you sweet rain water all time . The recharge well should be 40 to 50 feet away from toilet and home .

Hollow pit will first fill with rain water till the brim. There will hardly be recharge because area of contact with soil is very small. In fact the water filled in the hollow structure will find ways out through holes in the rings or from space between rings. This water will gather adjoining soil and flow back and deposit the same in the hollow space. There will be no recharge from base due to compaction and in due coarse of time the area around the outside of the structure will be hollow and collapse.

I can't understand one thing...all rain water go into ground anyway then why need of pits
@ravipohankar79547 жыл бұрын
yogesh bangaru not all water fall on ground goes inside ground specially in Cities where we have covered all the ground with either tar for road or tiles for home. secondly the water goes in sevage line is complete waste its not goes into ground.

Nowadays in the US everything is either illegal or highly regulated. "Land of the free" my ass! It's more like land of the free transnational corporate scums and banksters!

@@raajsharma2339 lol, who's bank? Rainwater is never yours to consume, that's why it's banned in many US states. You shall not block the flow of rainwater by altering it's flow to fill any artificial structure without approval. It's for environmental reasons because many people do this and create their own private lakes and when it rains too much, the lakes break and flood the low lying homes.

Would there be a possibility of a recharge well overflowing and if so, then what precautions can be taken?
@dominic6055 Жыл бұрын
there is a limit to store water, that's very easy just have a diverting pipe on top that diverts water to an area away from building foundations

This is very dangerous to tell people to dig wells..why? think about the issues it can cause. Kids can fall into it (olden days people did it but now Govt should provide water and people should not venture into their own ideas) You could be damaging underneath IF ANY cables or drainage system.
@yatinsabat88073 жыл бұрын
Govt themselves encourage to do it where ever it is possible to do It is better to consult civil engineer before constructing it to take care of foundation and other things of premises but it is need of the hour to save water
