Your flipping awsome, I could listen to you all day and I enjoy how laid back the lessons are.

I got what you were laying down very well. It really is a no brainer the way you showed to hip birds mouth location and angles. Thanks

Bill Furness Bill and very happy to know that you got some good information that you could use from this video. but I really see that I need to do this video over and make the lines more distinct and clear with better video quality. I am creating another KZbin channel specifically for construction, call Master Carpenter series.

Bill Furness I have finally started my channel that is called Master Carpenter series , go check it out and tell me what you think of the information. let me know how clear and concise the information is and where I need to make improvements I value your feedback thank you in advance?

Was a little difficult to understand but the effort is appreciated. I loke to use the 12 scale on my framing square and you can lay out the whole roof to scale. You can measure your overhangs you can check your angles and while using those angles you can figure out your shortenings and irregular double cheek cuts and single cheek cuts of valley and hip jacks. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for sharing one of your talents with others!!!! Have not visited your channel in a while. Been praying for you and your family however. Pray all is well with you and yours. Even though your wife never gave me the opportunity to speak with her to share important information that could be a huge Blessing to you and your family, I still consider her as a sister in the Loving Spirit of our Creator and His family and Kingdom Building efforts. Tell her that I send her a warm and humble greetings. I still Love you all, even though you did not even give me a reasonable chance as members in the same family of our Creator. Much Peace and Love extended to you and your family on your side of the world. Peace & Blessings!!!! ( : )

Love the energy but this is the most unclear explanation of an irregular hip roof I've ever seen

Sorry mate but that was not clear at all. Very confusing.

I agree. I am going to have to do this over and have a channel dedicated to construction only. This is my first time trying this and explaining as I go. Sorry for wasting your time. The next time I will have more visible lines and numbers that can be seen, thank you for taking the time to critique so that I can improve my presentation. I will keep you posted on what the channel name will be so you'll be able to check it out and tell me what you think on the improvement that I will make.

How does that work with HAP ??? Of course a twelve is going to have a higher HAP
@1THETUFFGUY5 жыл бұрын
What do you mean exactly as to how does what work? As for the HAP size, it depends on the stock of the lumber, It is possible for the HAP on the steeper pitch to be smaller if the lumber stock is smaller in certain framing applications. But as a rule, if the lumber stock is the same on a mixed pitch you are correct the HAP will be greater on the steeper side.
@juniusrosario37845 жыл бұрын
@@1THETUFFGUY so let's say that on the 8 side you have a 4 1/4 HAP and the twelve has a 6" HAP , a difference of 1 3/4 " . So if I understood correctly the twelve side would be raised 4" . But wouldn't you have to allow for the difference in HAP , and only raise it 2 1/4 " ??
@1THETUFFGUY5 жыл бұрын
If I understand the question that you're asking, it appears that you're forgetting that the ground zero for the framing points for the 8 or 12 side begins a the top outside corner of the sub-fascia, not the HAP's that correspond at the building lines. Remember the facia is the equal point for the 8 and 12 sides not the HAP corresponding to the building line, Hope this helps.

@@1THETUFFGUY After some thought yeah and talking to this guy on Instagram who said just like you that you gotta figure it from the fascia , I finally got it !! Can't wait to try it in the field , instead of running my fascia around the corner and running a stringline to it
