Lisa, think about mobility issues later in life when designing your house. Like zero entry showers and master bed and bath on main floor. Even for when you’re not old but you get injured. I’m 40 and was recently in a boot. The stairs were so hard and hoping over the shower threshold

Second this advice as a physical therapist! Or if the shower is a full bath, make sure it's wide enough to accommodate a shower chair or bench. Paths through the home 36" wide or so to accommodate a wheelchair or walker. Ways to shed light on the floor between bedroom and bathroom. Stairs with some contrast on the edges of the treads.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with breastfeeding! I'm a breastfeeding educator and just thought I'd share that at about 16 weeks pregnant, the "mature" milk that the toddler has been drinking shifts back to colostrum for the new baby, so there's a different taste and texture--that might be causing that aversion.

I agree with the woman above who said to design your house with getting older in mind. 36” doorways in master bedroom and other lower floor rooms if possible. Easy entry shower or at least think of how a bench would be placed if needed. Easy exterior entrances also. Shower wands. Wide hallways. I say this because my husband had a massive stroke 3 years ago at age 57. I went from never thinking about these things to thinking about them everyday. A parent may need to stay with you as well. Best of luck on your build.

My first 4 babies I had in the hospital in a 5 year span. Double stroller, bag of snacks, coloring books. Heck, maybe a screen, to get through prenatal appointments! 🤣 Then for a lot of them I would pick up my mom and she would ride along and stay in the car with the kids for me! Then I switched to home births, a lot less appointments, and eventually your older ones are teens that can sit in the car with the toddlers 🤣 it's gets easier! Those first 5-8 years of parenting lots of littles is hard!

We have very little money, but where I'm at in DFW, a gallon of raw milk from the farm we buy from is $6. The grocery store milk we used to get (Organic Valley grass-fed) was $5.59 for half a gallon.

I'm one of those women who can nurse on demand during the day and a few times at night and can still conceive 🥴 But my period always comes back at the 4-6 month postpartum timeframe and my baby cut teeth around then also so we typically introduce baby led weaning around 5-6 months old. So that may very well be a factor into my ability to conceive so soon!
@katysudlow7334
@katysudlow7334 20 күн бұрын
Same as you, I've conceived all my children, save the first of course, while still nursing on demand and through the night. And it's usually still a lot at night. I did tandem nurse my first two kids as well. My kids cut their teeth really early (before three months 😩, I know it's nuts) so that doesn't seem to affect my fertility since I've never gotten pregnant that early. I usually get my period back at six months at the earliest or a year at the latest. But it goes right into fertility, no need for the cycle to regulate as I've had a couple babies conceived immediately after that. I don't think food introduction really changes mine either since that happens more at six or so months. I do have friends that cannot conceive until they night wean or wean completely. It's interesting how different it is for every person's body!!

With my 3 kids I got my period back after one week when I stopped bleeding. No pacifier , I always breast feed my kids on demand. For almost 2 years each ( and still breastfeeding my third) I’m totally agree it’s genetic. And I got pregnant after one or two tries. lol God created us very different! Love your videos!!!

I tied tandem nursing my second and first and developed a nursing aversion very strongly against my older child (who was two) and weaned her so I could nurse the baby in peace. It was such a strong and strange feeling, like my body was saying “no!”

For all those, who are interested in the topic of Breastfeeding and Child Spacing, there are books from Sheila Kippley called "Breastfeeding and Natural Child Spacing - The Ecology of Natural Mothering" and "The Seven Standards of Ecological Breastfeeding: The Frequency Factor" which talk about reasons why the natural infertility while breastfeeding can be blocked. For example pacifiers, only nutritial not emotional feeding (because this stimulation of the breast is so important), feeding them until they fall asleep and not only for a certain amount of time (or both breasts so that they are fuller sooner), breastfeeding during night and so on... :) Perhaps somebody is interested, I don't know, I haven't found any other detailed book about this topic yet (it's already an older book) , but I originally searched for something like this, because my currently 13months old doesn't eat anything, she only wants to get breastfed exclusively - and I have no clue why, or what I could do to change it. I try sooo much every day, she doesn't swallow things others than liquids (also not a big fan of them), only licks them, and then spits them out 😆🙈🙈 I would be very grateful, if somebody already experienced this and has some tips / ideas or only can reassure me, that it changed by itself at some later point of age 🤗🤗 Best Greetings from Austria! :-) 🇦🇹 P.S.: Will Lisa's Book "Daily Sourdough" also be available in a printed version and not only as a kindle version?? 😇

Keep working on solids! I wouldn't be concerned about baby basically only nursing until at least 18 months as long as all milestones are being met and she's healthy. Do you do purees or actually solid foods? If purees I would stop those and switch to just giving her bits of whatever you're eating. Make it a normal thing to eat meals together when you're eating she's in her high chair with food on her plate or you feeding her. Let her play with her food and try different textures but don't push her to eat. Most kids by 18 months show more interest in solids.
@M-zm6du
@M-zm6du 19 күн бұрын
@egrizzle09 yes, I really try, I give here whatever I eat, show her different tastes, different textures, put here in the hair chair while I am eating, showing her how tasty it is and trying to feed her everything, but most of the time she simply cries and avoids everything (closes mouth, spits it out etc.) 😅😅
@egrizzle09
@egrizzle09 19 күн бұрын
Then I'd just try putting it on her tray and letting her explore on her own. She'll get there 😊

@egrizzle09 yeah then she only throws it down to the ground .. 😂🤦‍♀️ but I also think that she has to start eating by herself someday, she really doesn't want to be fed.. ^^ But thank you! 😊😊

We joke that the first solid food our first ate was her birthday cake! (Sugar free, real food, baby safe - but still😄) None of mine have been interested in eating any solid of significance until well over a year. They also had strong gag reflexes until later, too. Otherwise, totally normal kids, aside from a few tongue/ lip ties, which we had revised, but not related, in our case.

To the woman who asked what to do to keep the little ones entertained outside while she gardens, I liked having them help me with certain tasks (weeding, planting seeds, watering) and teaching them about gardening (at their age and skill level) and after a little while, they would get tired of that or distracted and start playing on their own in the yard around me. When that didn’t last as long as I needed, I would bring out little toys and have the older one hide them all around the yard for the younger one to find. The one year old is a perfect age for this and the 4 year old often loves to help the younger one find them. This lasts a long time. I’ve done that indoors as well with my kids and grandkids. The 10 year old still loves doing this with her younger siblings and they now take turns hiding the objects. I bought a set of “Rudolph the red nosed reindeer” characters (they are about 2” tall) for when they visit at Christmas and it’s always one of their favorite activities. They’ve hidden plastic Easter eggs and small toys from the toy box. Hope that helps.

There might be something to not not taking a pacifier and getting over putting things in their mouth sooner! I've only had one, so not much experience, but she would not take a pacifier... and I thought it was so interesting that she didn't put things in her mouth a lot and it was a short season when she did.

@brianne757

Hi! I just wanted to share with you what happened when my 3rd baby was transverse from weeks 29-39. My doctor had tried an inversion at around 36-37 weeks, but it didn't work. I also tried all the home exercises to help baby move. Then, moments away from heading in for a c-section, my doctor decided to try the inversion again, and baby moved in a few seconds! Prayers for you in case you currently have a transverse little one. 💗
