Donna - just a gorgeous quilt - very vivid colors - makes me think of summer and warm weather. I use my extra blocks or fabric to make a label row on the back of all my quilts as they are made for a certain person. So it ties the front and the back and the row on the back incorporates the label. Thank you for such simple videos - it really makes quilting easy and fun! Stay safe.

I have the perfect jelly roll for this. It is shades of dusty blues, greens and grays in flannel. I have been looking for a pattern to use for this jelly roll and this is IT for sure. I have been looking for several months but just had not seen exactly what I want, but this will be perfect. Especially since I only have 40 strips in this jelly roll. So many of them you need all 42. Sure any jelly roll will work for sure and I have some really colorful ones……Kaffe Fassett designer ones that will really be wonderful pops of color that will be great as well. This one might even be easy enough to quilt using End-to-End Quilting using my embroidery machine. Love this one. Thanks Donna for sharing this one. Another one that you have hit out of the park! And thank you to Daniella for this amazingly simple design! So simple but perfect! Love the design element on the back, too Donna. I have done this as well when I have left over strips. Really brings the whole quilt together.

Hi Donna! Another work of art from a master quilter! How do you sew so perfectly with those pinked edges? They confuse me so badly but I'm a novice quilter so there's strike one! Great job, and I love your enthusiasm! Thank you so much! ~~Lynne

I check the width of the strip before I start sewing (they can vary a bit by manufacturer) and then I just try to ignore the pinked edges. They used to bother me more, but now not at all!

Gorgeous fabric choices, perfect thread and quilt pattern, too. The backing makes it extra fun! Thanks so much for your positive and easy to understand videos, Donna and family. When I've done pieces backing to match the front, my longarm quilter didn't center the top on the backing. Does your store offer longarm quilting services?
@maureentaphouse52062 жыл бұрын
If I may say you should tell your longarm quilter that you've planned the backing to centre the back to the top. It is dead easy to centre the pieces on a long arm so there is absolutely NO reason why he/she can't do that.

How about you do a video on how to sew lined curtains with grommets. I watched a couple of KZbins and kept saying to myself, they need to take lessons from Donna as to how to do a KZbin. They skipped over steps you would have shown details and showed steps that pretty much anyone knows how to do. But you would have shown that too. The more I watch other KZbinrs, the more I appreciate and come back to you.

Fun pattern! I often use any extra strips for part of the binding.
@wendywilson17362 жыл бұрын
Same here. I did use extra blocks on the back for my nephew and lovely wife's quilt, once, though. Joanne fabrics took it upon themselves to use the extra piece off the bolt of green, and included that in my yardage instead of giving me one whole piece. I washed&dried it before I noticed the difference, so I sewed the extra blocks in a row, and put it between the pieces. While it wasn't critical on this quilt with batiks, and casual earthy style, it still irritated me that that store clerk would be so assuming I would accept that substitution. I did not notice it till after I washed them, then of course they would not refund me. I took my quilt related business to my local quiltshop, and my papercrafting to HobbyLobby. I'm sure Jordan Fabrics would Never just assume someone would be okay with two separate pieces, that could be in different dye lots.
@HRHDMKYT2 жыл бұрын
Wendy Wilson You may want to do a bit of research on Hobby Lobby before you give them your business. I believe they employ some questionable human resource’s policies/practices.

Donna, What thread do you use in your Juki industrial straight stitch machine?
@karenwhitley72112 жыл бұрын
Donna, you do a lot of strip cutting, but how do you not get curves in your fabric..you never seem to have to align your fabric selvage? Any hints would be appreciated. Love the videos.
@jordanfabrics83802 жыл бұрын
Be sure to iron your fabric before cutting, then fold it carefully so that the selvages are, if not lined up, then parallel, and make sure to cut perpendicular to the fold by lining up the fold on one of the straight lines on your cutting mat.
